The Ending Semester 'Thank You' Letters

As the semester is finally ending, it would be wrong to leave without some thank you letters to everyone involved in my semester. Thanks to everyone who impacted my life, some positive and some negative, but all equally as memorable.

Parents: Thank you for supporting me. For answering my phone calls at 2 a.m. when I am extremely stressed out or listening to me to scream and cry about not getting any of my classes. Thanks for being OK with my forever declining GPA and supporting me in whatever major I choose (even if I am still undecided until senior year). But more importantly, thank you for funding my coffee before class and transferring money into my bank account when I only have $1.67 left.

My friends: Thank you for making every semester better, because I really didn’t know that was possible. Thanks for getting bagels and coffee with me every weekend and talking about our ridiculous nights out, and also giving me a shoulder to cry on in the library when I had four exams and a paper due that week. Thanks for interrupting me during class or when I’m studying by tagging me in vines, articles on Facebook, or tweets that somehow relate to our inside jokes.

My Social Media Accounts: Twitter, Instagram, Netflix, Facebook, Vines, Snapchats, etc. Thank you for distracting me during my times of studying. Thanks for the “two minute” breaks that turn into two hours of stalking on my cousin’s girlfriend’s step mom’s sister who took a trip to Barcelona in 2011. Thanks for letting me find articles and pictures that make my group chat laugh or remind us of a memory from last summer. I hate you sometimes, but you will never be deleted from my phone.

My Roommates: The people I can't thank enough. God bless you guys for living with me. Thanks for not getting mad when I forget to clean up, taking care of me when I can't hold myself together after a night out, and listening (or pretending to listen) to every little detail I tell you about my day, boys, or complaints about my life. Thanks for making this my home away from home.

My Barista: You have made every 8 a.m. a little less terrible to go. Thank you for making my coffee perfect every morning, knowing my order when I walk in, and saying good luck every time I leave. It went a long way and put a smile on my face (until I walked into class). Your lovely coffee creation kept me going through my day of exams, work, writing papers, and occasionally the strength to make it to the gym. Although my bank account is currently in the negatives, it’s worth it.

My Professors: Thank you for giving me gray hair, pimples, and more stress than I thought I could ever endure in the time span of four months. Somehow, you all have seemed to conspire to make my semester hell with papers, exams, and projects due during the same week, and though I have barely made it out alive, thanks for testing my limits. I never knew I could stay awake for 56 hours straight or drink 11 cups of coffee in that time span. I may not have learned anything about my major, but I did learn…well…nothing. So thank you.

My Handle of Strawberry Lemonade Svedka: I think I need to thank you the most. Thank you for getting me through Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (day and night of course). You have given me so many memories, although I don’t remember them all, but I know they were great from the what my friends tell me and from my 300 second Snapchat. You de-stress me for four whole days, letting me forget I have two exams on Monday or make me forget I shouldn’t text my ex at 3 a.m., but hey, it’s all been some good times. Til we meet again next semester.

My Sorority: Thank you for the amazing bonds, laughs, and friendships we share every day. Every day, wherever I am, I see your smiling faces that brightens my day even when I’m at my worst. Thanks for expanding my closet, bringing me coffee in the library while I’m studying for an exam, giving me unconditional love, and making me a better version of myself. I can’t wait to see what the future semesters hold for our amazing chapter.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
