Mid-October through November is considered by most college students to be the hardest time of the fall semester. It seems like all professors try to cram in all the tests and projects they can at the same time. Not to mention that many of us students are involved in non-academic clubs and organizations on campus; these organizations take up a lot of our time as well. Trying to find a balance between school work, campus involvement, and time for yourself can seem nearly impossible. Because of that, many of us find ourselves feeling stressed and in odd head spaces. Today, I want to give you some encouragement.
Remember that you are not alone. I know that sounds cheesy, but it really is true. Sometimes you feel better when you know others are going through the same struggle. Knowing this, you can lean on your friends and they can lean on you for support. Make time for each other and take time to de-stress together--go to the movies, go get ice cream, have a paint night. You guys will get through it all!
Have faith in yourself. Sometimes you have to tell yourself that you are capable of getting things done. With all the assignments that are coming at you all at once, just go for it. Take it one assignment at a time or work on several assignments bit by bit. You have to find what works for you. Oftentimes, what works for you doesn't work for someone else, and you have to be confident in this. Also, know your limits and be comfortable with them. Say "no" if you have to. If you have a lot due one night, but you feel that your brain is mush, take time for yourself and take a break. Everything will get done, don't worry.
Keep these things in mind this next month of the semester. Do your best because that is all you can do. Push yourself, but not too hard. You've got this, and I'm rooting for you!
