Finally, the seemingly never-ending saga comes to a close. It may not be the expected outcome, but Tom Brady made the decision to end the pursuit of justice. Brady decided to drop the court case against NFL commissioner Goddell, ending the Deflategate case. Brady opted to cut to the chase and take the four game suspension. But you see, you mess with the bull you get the horns. When you mess with a legend like Brady, you truly never win. Goddell may have won the court case, but Brady will continue to be the greatest of all time. He'll put his head down, take the suspension (although not deserved) like a man, but what good will it do?
Surely, the Patriots will not be the same team without Brady for those first four games, but the rest of the team will get a chance to shine. This isn't about punishing the team, the Patriots will continue to be one of the best teams in the league with or without Brady. And when he does come back from the suspension, the GOAT will be back in full swing. Taking Brady off the field is only going to increase his desire to win, to be the best. And so, Goddell, by suspending Brady, you are actually doing the Patriots a huge favor. Brady will play the best games of his career because of the fire behind his game. The suspension is only going to motivate Brady to be better, to come back out of the gate playing better than he ever has. So watch out NFL. Brace yourselves for the best Patriots the league has ever known. Brace yourself for the best Brady you've ever seen. And be ready to have the biggest, most pissed off fan base in the NFL.
To the other teams in the league: watch out. Be ready for Brady to come back, sharp as a tack. Be ready for every unexpected play possible. The suspension is only going to give Brady the upper hand--allowing him extra time to analyze his opponents' strategies and come up with new, innovative offensive strategies. Be prepared for Brady to know his team inside and out, after watching from the sidelines. Be ready for a pissed off Patriots team. Be ready to play your best football ever, and be prepared to be amazed.
