Halloween may be over, but a far more frightening event is still ahead.
This Tuesday, as we are all very aware, is Election Day. The anticipation has nearly reached its peak, perhaps more so for the end of election season than for the actual results.
Unfortunately (but understandably), few people are overly anxious to vote for either of the two main candidates. Still, it is our duty as Americans to vote, even if that means just having to vote for the lesser of two evils.
None of us can afford not to care. Whoever we elect can change the course of not only American history but world history. The person elected will be in office for four to eight years, but his or her legacy will likely last far beyond that.
I am not going to try to tell you who to vote for. However, when you go to cast your vote, no one else around you will know who you are voting for. It will be between you and God. Therefore, I would strongly suggest saying a quick, quiet prayer before casting your vote. Even if you go in fairly certain that you know who you are voting for, ask God to guide you in selecting the candidate that will truly be best for this country.
We must remember that we are human, and we are flawed. We don't always know what is best for us. But He does. We must allow him to guide us, and above all else, we must remember that we are one nation, under God.
