Lets face it, this Tuesday we will have already or will be casting our final votes for the next President of the United states, and not much later we will have one elected one, here are some things to remember before casting your vote!
1. Don't let the media set your vote
Do research on each candidate and decide for yourselves who you agree with more.
2. Don't be a "Bandwagoner"
As hard as it is to not fall in love with all those red hats or blue bumper-stickers, vote for someone because of their ideas, not because your friends and family are voting for them.
3. Remember you are entitled to your own opinion.
Not everyone is going to agree with you, you are not going to agree with everyone, and that is okay.
4. Think about the "Bigger- Picture"
This is not a popularity contest, although some people seem to have turned it into one. Remember that the next four years lie in the hands of us as voters.
5. The pre elections polls mean nothing
The media will make you believe someone new is winning each day, the only day that matters is election day itself.
6. You CAN vote on issue that disagree with your party
Just because you are a certain party does not mean you must vote for all liberal/ conservative ideas, vote for what YOU believe in, not what your party platform says you should.
7. This election WILL change America
No matter who is elected this Tuesday, America will change. It is up to us as voters and Americans to see it change the way we would like.
8. Think past the President
We are not only electing a president, we are also electing someone who has the power to appoint federal officials who also can affect our country.
9. Vote for, not against
If your only purpose of voting is to keep the other candidate out of office regardless of liking the opposing candidate, reevaluate your decision. You should be voting for better reasons than that.
10. Actually cast a vote
And finally, if you're thinking about not voting at all, remember that as Americans we are given this right and if you do not vote, you cannot complain about the final outcome.
