Hey, you. Yes, you! One question: Are you voting in this coming election? If you answered no, please read on. If you answered yes, I guess you can tag along as well.

If you’re anything like me, you tuned into all of the debates the second you heard Donald Trump was running as a candidate in the elections and immediately followed him on Twitter to watch all of the craziness ensue. You knew that Mr. Trump had no filter, and you were excited to see what--and who--he would target next. You were actually very impressed with Donald Trump’s methods of attack. I mean, giving out Lindsey Graham’s phone number to the entire country? Hilarious.

While I applaud Mr. Trump’s inner Regina George, I’m getting kind of sick of it. And I’m sure you are as well.

How about Hillary Clinton? You were probably super excited to hear that the former First Lady was now running as a democratic nominee for the upcoming election. A woman running for president? How cool! That is, until you started tuning into the news and figured out that the woman you revered so much is no better than a crowd-pandering grade A liar-liar-pants-on-fire.

So now you sit there, thinking: “If I don’t like anybody running, why vote?” This is where I come in to tell you why you are so very, very wrong. It would be so silly (read: stupid) to not exercise one of the principle rights given to us as US citizens. And I know you think that your vote isn’t going to make a difference anyway. I’ve heard that before. Maybe your vote won’t make a difference. Maybe you’re right. But, what if everyone is thinking the same thing as you? What if everyone is deciding to stay home this election season instead of heading to the polls?

Bottom line: you should go vote. But I’m not going to waste your time with statistical evidence about why you need to vote (and I love statistics.) Instead, let me do you a favor. I am going to list my favorite positives about each candidate to make each of these human beings seem a bit more, well, human, in attempts to try and help you make a decision. You’re welcome.

John Kasich

Governor Kasich has taken the back seat this election season. You don’t hear much about him, even though he seems to be one of the more reasonable candidates in the running. Sigh. One of the greatest things about John Kasich is the way he uses his hands while he speaks. Out of all the candidates, this governor ranks first place in hand gestures. Here is some video proof of John Kasich’s outstanding hand movement abilities. We need this in a president, keep in mind.

Ted Cruz

Next comes Senator Ted Cruz. Although there is something unsettling about this man’s face, you have to admit that he has an impressive knowledge of the constitution that extends far beyond Cady Heron’s knowledge of mathematical limits. You could say that the limit to his constitutional knowledge does not exist. All joking aside, his extensive knowledge of the constitution is an incredibly important asset for a presidential nominee. It is very valuable to have a leader of the nation who is able to back his claims using the constitution to ensure that nothing that is imposed on the US is, you know, unconstitutional.

Donald Trump

Let’s talk about Mr. Donald Trump for a second. Nobody crosses this man--nobody. We may just need this in a president. Mr. Trump’s ability to out-diss anyone he comes in contact with is commendable. Can you imagine if a foreign enemy decided to give the US a hard time? Donald Trump would (verbally) tear the enemy to shreds (on social media.) Trump is downright frightening, and I believe that this man could make America the intimidating and highly esteemed country that it should be. He may actually possess the ability to #MakeAmericaGreatAgain.

Hillary Clinton

Hillary is possibly the only candidate who possesses one of the most important qualities of a leader of a nation: she can really rock a good pantsuit. Name a color in the Pantone color archive, and the Former Secretary of State has donned a suit in that color. Clinton has arguably started the pantsuit trend. For that, I commend her. This may be a very important asset.

Bernie Sanders

There’s not much about Bernie Sanders’ policies that I support. There’s also just something about his disheveled physical appearance that doesn’t scream "President of the United States." But I do have an incredible amount of respect for Senator Sanders’ demeanor. I admire the way Bernie Sanders interacts with his supporters, and with other individuals. Check out this video of Senator Sanders stepping away from his podium mid-speech to tend to a man who fainted (probably because he just calculated how much his taxes would increase if Bernie hit the Oval Office). What a mensch.

See, friends? When you actually look at each candidate, it is possible to find something you might actually like about them. So do me (and America) a favor, and vote this election season!
