Currently, there are fourteen Republican candidates, and three democratic candidates fighting for their chance at the Presidency. Each candidate comes from a different background of experience and offers different ideas for the future. If you haven't been paying attention to the debates or following the news, here is a good place to find out some information about the Presidential hopefuls. Being that there are so many in the running, I will talk about the top four GOP candidates and the top two Democratic candidates, in the order that they are currently standing in the polls.

Republicans

1. Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is the current front-runner of the Republican Party and is running with an average of 28.9% in the polls. Donald Trump is the chairman and President of The Trump Organization and is known for being one of the top real estate developers and holders in the world. Beyond that he was the creator of the show The Apprentice, has written many books, and is a top business man. No one ever expected that Donald Trump would be a 2016 Presidential Candidate or that he would be in front of the polls ever since the race began. Here are some of Donald Trump's viewpoints and plans if he ends up with the nomination.

Tax Plan: Single-income earners, who are making less than $25,000 a year would not pay any income tax. Additionally, any married couple who is making less than $50,000 a year will not pay any income tax. He has also promised that no business of ANY SIZE, will pay more than fifteen percent of its income in federal taxes.

Immigration Reform: Trump would like to build a wall across the southern border and to have Mexico pay for the building of this wall. He would also like to triple the amount of officers that are protecting the border. He is planning to return all of the 76,000+ criminal aliens that the Obama Administration released in 2013, to their home countries as well as detaining the aliens attempting to cross the border instead of the catch-and-release policy that is now in place. In addition, Donald Trump will end birth right citizenship. This means that all children born in America to illegal immigrants will be deported and not considered American citizens.

Dr. Carson became another one of the Presidential Candidates that no one expected but took a rise in the polls because people find him to be trustworthy. Here are some of Dr. Carson's policies for his presidency.

Education: Dr. Carson is firm on his belief that education has the ability to help a person climb the ladder and can actually lead people out of poverty, as it did for him. Carson believes that through common core, we have had a huge increase in the federal government trying to control school systems. He would overturn Common Core as President, and would like schools to be run on a local level by informed and engaged parents, teachers, and principals.

Health Care: Being a Dr. himself, health care is something that Carson feels very strongly about. The Affordable Care Act has cost the United States over 1.2 trillion dollars, Carson explains in his campaign that even after this has gone into full effect, after ten years, millions of people still won't have health insurance. He will re-establish a plan so that patients and doctors can have a strong relationship with one another. Although this article will highlight some of the candidates major policies and their ideas as they have projected them on their campaign trail, please remember that there are many more policies that each candidate has put out. Additionally, beyond the six candidates I discussed here, there are still eleven other candidates in the race for the Presidential election. I urge college students, and even adults to pay attention to the politics that go on in this country and to watch the debates. No matter what party you will side with, this is your country too and your opinion and vote matters.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
