Trump Rocks The South

"Make America Great Again"

Trump Rocks The South

Saturday, October 3rd, 2015.

This past weekend Franklin, Tennessee (30 miles south of Nashville) was lucky enough to have Donald Trump grace it's presence.

Mr. Trump held a (free) rally at The Factory on Saturday. 2,000 tickets were available to people to get in the door. If you weren't one of the lucky 2,000 to see him speak you were able to stand outside where there were speakers set up so you wouldn't miss a word. Doors opened at 1 P.M. with thousands of people waiting outside (in the rain!!) for two hours before doors were set to open. The event started around 2:30 P.M. with The Gatlin brothers putting on a small show before Donald spoke.

2:30 arrived and Donald didn't disappoint making an entrance into the concert hall to the song "We're Not Gonna Take It" (true Trump fashion).

Trump began his speech talking about the great crown he drew in Franklin and in other places. He told the story of a woman outside wanting to take a selfie with him and his people saying "no,no,no" but how he looked at the woman and said "yes you may". Mr. Trump may seem like a complete jerk in a lot of different ways, but you got to give it to him, he is amazing! His presence is overwhelming and overtakes you. He is a force to be around. Also it's not to shabby being in the presence of a billionaire.

Trump then (in typical Trump fashion) told personal stories. He even brought Larry from The Gatlin Brothers on stage and told a story about selling him an apartment in Trump Towers. He made a few jabs at other candidates, (of course). He mainly talked about his lead in the polls though.

Trump added a few words about the refugees we are taking in from Syria. A few weeks ago we were only accepting 10,000 and now we are taking in a record 200,000?! Among these 200,000 most of them are men, young men. Why are they not fighting for their country instead of fleeing to ours? Very few of these refugees are women or children.

At the end Trump spoke about something that has recently been in the news. "Gun Control." He spoke about the Oregon shooting where a single gunman came into a college and killed nine people, and wounded nine others. He stated that we need to be less worried about "gun control" and more worried about the mental illness associated with the people committing these horrific crimes.

He didn't fail to mention Hilary Clinton in this speech adding a few minute talk about her (awful) stint with Benghazi.

Trump then proceeded to tell how we are now in a deal with Iran about exchanging three of the four American prisoners they are holding for nineteen of theirs that we have along with a multitude of other requests from them.

Trump closed the rally by reading the second amendment and talking about the wall he is going to build across the Mexico/American border. He then exited the stage by walking along the crowd and signing autographs and taking pictures with a few people. Trump then went outside to speak a few minutes to the thousands of people that waited in the rain for a chance to see him.

My dad and I were lucky enough to get out of the building and find our way to his vehicle where a few other people were waiting. Trump was then escorted through the crowd by police where he signed a few more autographs. My dad was also lucky enough to shake his hand and have Trump sign his hat!!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
