In years past, as the month of November draws closer, the idea of presidency grows to be a bigger topic of discussion. People have rarely held their tongues when discussing where they stand and who they want to vote for, but the 2016 presidential election has proven to be the complete opposite.

Why is this the case?

Running for office are Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Both are very familiar faces in American culture, but not necessarily in a positive way. Neither is looked at as the typical candidate for the presidency, and they’ve both caused quite the explosion of controversy among voters. Many voters do not wish to vote for either, and if one chooses to vote for one or the other, the reaction will likely consist of dirty looks and insults full of colorful language.

When November rolls around, I will be 18 years old and able to vote in my first ever election. I’ve been asked by so many, “Who are you voting for for president?” I never struggle to let them know that I have chosen to support and vote for Donald Trump when it comes time to punch my ballot, and the reactions I receive I see coming, but I really don’t understand them.

Whether anyone wants to accept it or not, Donald Trump is best for this country.

As the years have passed, America has become a country run by softies. Yes, I said softies. We’ve always been known as a powerhouse nation, built by strong men such as Teddy Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Jackson, George Washington, Ronald Reagan, and countless others. All of these men were strong, focused, and determined to do whatever it took to make and keep this country the best that it could be, even if that meant upsetting people in the process. Over the course of the past 10 years, that philosophy has been far less evident on the national stage.

The leaders of our country today are not doing what is best for the country to ensure that it runs and operates as efficiently as possible. The leaders of our country are demonstrating that they just want to do what makes the majority of the population happy, and it is dead level obvious that such a tactic is pushing our nation deeper and deeper into a hole we really and literally cannot afford to be in. Our nation is in dire need of someone to fix this. The answer is Donald Trump.

For starters, our economy is in horrendous condition, and if things don’t get fixed fast, we could very well see another crisis like the Great Depression (1929-39). Trump has been tremendously successful as a businessman for the majority of his life, and understands finances and the private sector better than anyone else running against him. This is one key quality our leaders in the past have lacked.

Trump said in an interview with fiercepharma.com that "we need leadership in Washington to get the tax code changed so companies will be coming to America, not looking for ways to leave." Trump has also made it very apparent that creating more jobs is very high on his list of things to do if elected president, and our nation is in serious need of more jobs, considering more than 40 percent of all labor-force aged Americans do not have jobs. (Those numbers vary for a number of reasons.)

Unlike Clinton, Trump is not a career politician, but he is also not under criminal investigation. It’s truly mind-boggling to know that some citizens would rather have a someone accused of mishandling classified information as their president over Donald Trump. For the most part, Americans have based their opinions of Donald Trump on what the media has said about him prior to his engagement in the presidential election, as well as what they’ve made him out to be since he joined. This is a major problem.

What this country is in need of is someone who will make changes and decisions in plain sight rather than under the table. Donald Trump has made it very apparent to every American who has heard him discuss his plans that he has no shame in telling you exactly what he plans to do, and how he’s going to do it.

On the note of Trump not being a career politician, this is still true, so when it comes to foreign policy he doesn’t really have his feet wet. However, this could be a good thing because he wouldn’t let what is considered to be “politically justified” hinder what is truly best for this nation.

Trump has made it clear with his track record that he isn’t one for negotiating, so unlike our current command, he will not negotiate with terrorists and make our country look like a laughing stock. It’s really a good thing that neighboring nations wouldn’t want to negotiate with him because then we won’t have foreign nations taking advantage of our weak political system.

When it comes to education, Trump has proposed throwing out common core. I know, personally, of many teachers who would be very pleased with this one, as in the past I’ve heard them complain of how much it sucks. He said in a video on his website that “We cannot have the bureaucrats in Washington telling you how to manage your child’s education. So Common Core is a total disaster.” Our country is ranked 28th in the world for education, based on maths and science. Trump has claimed that there are third world countries ahead of us; it’s a problem he intends to fix.

We are pouring money into the common core education system and we are ranked this low. Trump plans to toss out the common core system and spend the money to better our education plans, as well as aid in re-designing the finance systems in colleges, since he said “[student loans is] one of the only places, frankly, where our country actually makes money."

I could go on and on about why people should consider voting for Donald Trump, but most will just tune it out. Donald Trump is a leader with a backbone, unafraid to do what is best for this nation, even if it means stepping on some toes in the process. He is backed with the skills and knowledge needed to really help fix and develop this country.

And if you were to ask me again who I will be voting for this November, the answer is still going to be Donald Trump. You can't stump the Trump.

Whether you’re scared of him or just don’t like him, you might as well just accept the fact that he really is the key candidate for making America great again.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
