Hey God. How have you been? It's been a really long time since I stepped foot into your world. I had to take a break for a while. You took something from me a while ago and it made me think that there was nothing left for me. I questioned your existence for an excruciating amount of time and I am so sorry for that. But here I am, coming to you once more, and you have welcomed me back with open arms.
You took my best friend away from me 2,452 days ago. He had shown me Your world and how unconditional Your love could be. I didn't understand why you would take someone out of my world who loved yours so much. But then, 57 days ago, you introduced me to my new best friend. Someone who loves you so much that she is doing her job to love and not to judge. She brought me back into your world.
In these past 60 days I have learned so much about you. I learned that even though I have been separated from you for so long, you still welcomed me back with open arms. I learned that even though my beliefs may be a little different than others, we are all here to love one another, no matter what. When I pray in church, I can feel you with me and I can hear you responding, "I am here. I hear you."
God, if there is one thing I could say to you right now, it would be thank you. I have friends that have been here since the beginning and I even have my family, but you have been here through it all. You have accepted me back with arms wide open and have allowed me to cry to you once more.
Even though you have taken the one person who knew me best in life, you brought me the one person who has shown me the way back to you. I would have never thought that I would be back in your doors again. I would have never thought I would be worshiping you once more. And I would have never thought that I could feel your presence again. Knowing that when I walk through those church doors, and you're there waiting for me, makes me the happiest person in the world.
So God, thank you for bringing my best friend back into my life. Thank you for teaching me that it is my job to love and not judge. Thank you for guiding me through these past two months and showing me the way back. Thank you for letting me love you again, even after I said I never would. You are putting me on the right path, and even though I may not realize it, you are helping me in ways that I will never see. You may give me more than I can handle at times, but you never give yourself more than you can handle. I will be forever grateful to you and for you.
