The Differences Between Your Big And Your Big Sister

Many girls across college campuses everywhere go through sorority recruitment to find their home away from home while gaining sisters in the process. During recruitment you look forward to Bid Day, and the most exciting event to happen after Bid Day is definitely Big/Little Reveal.

Throughout Big/Little week, Bigs are surprising their Littles with presents and clues, revealing their identity. When it finally comes to the reveal, Littles are bursting with excitement, wondering who their Big is going to be and hoping it's who they want it to be. For me, Big/Little week was definitely an exciting time in my life, but at the same time, it was kind of weird. Personally, I have two sisters, one younger and one older, so I didn't know how good I would be at balancing the relationships between my Big and my big sister. I later went on to find out that balancing the relationships isn't hard at all, but the relationship you have with your Big and the relationship you have with your big sister are somewhat different.

When it comes to going out.

Your Big is all for it. She's always down to get down with her Little, and she's always excited when you ask her what fraternities are having parties. On the other hand, your big sister wants to keep you as innocent as possible, because you're still are and will always be her little sister. I can say that going to college has opened up mine and my older sister's relationship, and it's easier for me to talk to her about different things, but I still always look for that "there's no way you actually did that" expression on her face when I tell her news.

When it comes to relationships.

Both your Big and your big sister will care about your love life. They both will want to meet the new boy you're talking to and they both will threaten to beat him up if he does anything wrong to you. Thanks for the love and support, guys.

When it comes to guidance.

Your Big knows exactly what your college is like, so she will probably give you some insight when it comes to which classes to take, which professors are easy graders, what times the gym on campus is empty, or when to go to the dining hall to ensure you eat a fresh meal instead of day old pizza. Going to your big about on campus questions is easy because she knows her way around and has gone through everything before. Your big sister will try and guide you in different ways. Your big sister paves the path for you to take so you can follow in her footsteps. She will tell you to learn from the mistakes she's made so that you can become a better person because of it.

When it comes to loving you.

Your Big and big sister will love you unconditionally. Bigs dream of taking the perfect Little to call their own, and you fulfill that dream, so of course she will love you. I mean, just look at all of the stuff she showered you with during Big/Little week... that's love and dedication right there. Your big sister will love you no matter what, because you are her family, her blood. She will always look at you and see a tiny piece of her, because as your big sister she tried to teach you in ways your parents didn't. You'll always be her baby sister no matter how old you get, and you will always be loved by her.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
