Water is essential towards our overall health and well-being; however, most people still do not drink the adequate amount of water they need on the daily. If you are a person that hates drinking pure water, than detox water can be a great solution. From helping your metabolism to cleaning out excessive wastes, detox drinks are not only delicious, they also contain a ton of benefits that you may not have known about. Here are five of my favorite drinks that any one can incorporate into their everyday diet.
1. Plain lemon water.
This is the very first one I ever had and I still drink it to this day because of its simplicity. Lemon is my favorite ingredient in detox water because it has so many benefits and it’s so easy to obtain. As someone who struggled with acne, lemon water has truly helped. Lemon contains antioxidants that help rejuvenate the skin, which leaves it glowing. Lemon works great with just about anything and like I said, it's found everywhere. For those who don't want to deal with a lot of ingredients, lemon is a simple and great way to spice up plain water and still get a lot of benefits.
2. Cucumber and lemon mint water.
This water has detoxing properties that help clean out free radicals and the toxins in your body. Cucumber is known to have several types of vitamins (A, B, and C), that help with immunity and digestion. This is a great water to try, because it’s not only delicious, it’s beneficial as well.
3. Strawberry and lemon mint water.
This is probably my favorite one because it’s so good. This will give your plain water a strawberry-lemonade taste without all the added sugar. This can help get your bowels moving, which ultimately helps with people experiencing bloating. The mint taste will leave you feeling refreshed as well. If any, I recommend trying this one.
4. Raspberry and lime water.
Raspberries contain antioxidants that help regulate metabolism. They contain a high source of vitamin C and manganese that helps with blood sugar regulation and calcium absorption. Like lemons, lime has weight loss, skin care, and digestive benefits. These two ingredients work well with each other.
5. Kiwi and blueberry water.
For people that aren’t too crazy about lemon like I am, this is a great one to try. Blueberries have high nutrients in them, which include fiber and vitamin C that help protect cholesterol in the blood. Because of this, blueberries may lower blood pressure and help prevent heart disease. Kiwis have the same benefits as blueberries, as they can help overcome constipation and bloating. Kiwis give the water that extra kick, which really makes it enjoyable to drink.
These are just a couple of waters that I have tried and I have liked, but there are so many more recipes out there that you can come up with yourself or look up. The best part about detox waters is the endless possibility. There are just so many ways to infuse fruits and vegetables into your everyday routine, while ensuring that you are keeping yourself hydrated.
