White Feminists,
Freeing your nipples and parading around with pink armpit hair isn't going to improve the lives of minorities. Your struggle as a white woman cannot compare to mine as a black woman. Yes, you are a woman, but you are also white. This means you have historically been seen as superior to me, a woman who stands proudly with a brown complexion.
The oppression that African American women, Latinas, trans, etc., the phase is significantly different than what you face. Our experiences are not singular. Your lack of intersectionality is dangerous as well as selfish. And, denying your privilege is toxic. Your white feelings are insignificant compared to the problems at hand. And I'm not sorry about it.
Since you don't want to be told what to do, please don't put your feelings on others. For example, don't say that hijabs are harmful to Muslim women because they can make the choice for themselves.
And, what is really harmful is your rhetoric. It is easy to understand but, abortion, birth control and equal pay are not the only problems at hand.
Lastly, if you call yourself a feminist and treat individuals that are homeless as subhuman and have more respect for nonhuman animals than other humans, you need to reevaluate your life.
Sincerely,
A black Intersectional Feminist
