Dear Mom and Dad,
First, I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for giving me everything I have and raising me right. Thank you for making sure that the morals I have were made important in our household. I can't thank you enough. You have worked so hard to get me where I am today, and I can't thank you enough. I hope that some day I can be half as good of parents as you are. You have given it your all and then some. Even on the days where things got rough, you always made sure we didn't go without. You have showed me what hard work and dedication looks like, and I am eternally grateful for that.
I know that things weren't easy. I'm sure it wasn't easy having patience when things weren't going well, or giving us love unconditionally when you really wanted to yell. I'm aware of what you did for us, and believe me, I appreciate it. I may not always express how appreciative I am of all you have done, but I am thankful.
Thank you for giving us the life you wanted us to have. You worked so hard, and I can't even begin to list off all of the sacrifices you made our family.
Thank you for being my biggest supporter. I can't imagine where I would be in life without your endless support and comfort. No matter what was going on, you were always there. When I didn't get the position I so badly wanted, you were there. When I was able to be on a winning team, you were there. When things weren't going so great, you were there to offer advice,
Thank you for not throwing it in my face every time you would've been justified saying, "I told you so." There were plenty of these moments, and not once did you say it. Maybe some day I'll learn that mother knows best, and that you should always listen to your parents, because they may just be right about some stuff.
I'm sorry for not listening all of those times you gave me great advice. Sometimes teenagers seem to think they know how this life works, when really they have no clue. I know I should've listened. It would've made life a lot easier on all of us.
I'm sorry for not being more appreciative of everything you did for us. Between getting up early to make sure we made it to practice, being a portable ATM, teaching us how to drive, and everything in between, I'm not sure how you did it.
I'm sorry it took me 18 years to say thank you. You always tell me how proud of me you are, but I never tell you how proud I am that your my parents.
Thank you for loving me, tolerating me, and supporting me every step of the way. I love you and can't imagine where I would be without everything you do for me.
Sincerely,
The one blessed enough to know you their entire life
