Dear 15 year old me,

First of all, that boy isn't worth it. I know you think you love him and that you'll spend the rest of your life with him but you won't. Sorry. It just wasn't meant to be.

Enjoy being 15, because 16 comes way too fast. Driving isn't as great as you think. It comes with a bunch of responsibly and it is NOT cheap. You just can't wait to get behind the wheel and go hang out with friends on the weekends. But it's not all fun. You'll have to go to the store for your parents. And drive your brother and sister around. But if you want to keep your car I wouldn't complain about it.

You're going to make mistakes. You will hang out with the wrong people and make some bad choices. But that doesn't mean you are a disappointment. Everything happens for a reason and you'll understand one day.

Don't let your emotions get the best of you. There will be days when you feel like you aren't ever going to be good enough. But that's not true. Don't let days like that ruin your outlook on life. Everything will get better. But you have to endure the rain before you can get the rainbow.

Love yourself. I can't stress this enough. You are beautiful, wonderful, amazing, smart. You are good enough and people do care about you. A man that is very close to me, that you will meet at 17, told me "Don't let people define who you are"

You are a princess. Don't let anyone tell you any different. You are a princess, and you will do amazing things in your future. Dress up and have fun. Put glitter on everything. Be a princess.

Love God, more than anything. You are a child of God and I promise you as soon as you start learning and growing in your relationship with Him you will see things more clearly and life won't seem as difficult all the time.

Don't slack off in school. I know you will anyway, trust me I've been there, but colleges are already looking at you. Everything you do in high school will reflect on your life after graduation. Don't give up. I know it's hard but you can do it. If you couldn't, I probably wouldn't be where I am today.

You are amazing and beautiful. You are loved. You will pass. And you can do anything you put your mind too.

Love, 17 year old you

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Being Invisible The Best Super Power

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
