Dear Hate, Love Is Gonna Conquer All

I will continue to shut Hate out, and I will fight hard for Love to be the most important four-letter word in my life.

The world has taken us by a storm, and it seems as if lightning strikes every time we blink.

Tragedy after tragedy has hit year after year, and the people of America are in continuous confusion. The people of America are scared to travel or enjoy their lives because of the constant fear of being attacked. History is repeating itself, and the past is becoming our future.

Our country is fighting hard to become one. Our country is fighting hard to put the Hate behind us. Our country is fighting hard to secure a safe environment nationwide. Our country is fighting hard to L O V E.

Dear Hate, I have news for you… Love is more powerful than you. Love has been there every time you have struck. She is within us all and it should not take a tragedy for her to come out and show herself.

Here’s the difference between Hate and Love: Hate does not care to show himself, Hate is conceded, selfish, and wants nothing less than stress for everyone. Love is shy, patient, and selfless. Love waits her turn before showing how much she truly cares.

Maren Morris’ recently released song, “Dear Hate," has really hit home to me. In this song, she sings about how Hate is so poisonous; it’s amazing that the world is still spinning. She sings about how Hate has been in every tragedy dating back to Adam and Eve in the garden. At the end of the song, she sings to Love saying that everywhere Hate has been, you were there too.

One thing we all really need you to know, Hate, is Love will never give up. No matter how hard you push, Love is not going to budge. Love is unbreakable and will fight to the ends of the earth to repair what seems to be unrepairable.

But, there’s one thing, Love needs our help. Everywhere I turn, I am seeing prayer requests, I am seeing tragedy, I am seeing desperation. Well, how hard would it be to take five minutes out of our day and pray for our country, pray for the ones in need, and pray for Love to stay strong?

You and Love have all the same power, but I will not let you break my walls. These walls I have put up are for Love to break down only. Hate, you can knock on the door to my heart any time you want, but I will not answer.

We are given so many chances to see all the Hate in the world, but does anyone just stop to think about how the world DOES continue to spin? Every second, we are moving on from the past, into the future, and creating a repeating cycle. Don’t you see? Love DOES conquer all.

No matter how big or small the problem may be, we can depend on Love to step in and help us fight. If that wasn’t true, who is to say we wouldn’t still be fighting in World War II? Imagine being separated by color or not having the same rights as another individual because of your nationality or gender.

How about not even being able to have the chance to practice religion freely? We have gained so much freedom and so many rights in this country, which is supposed to be the greatest on earth..So why are we constantly fighting? Why are we letting hate win? Why are we forgetting the definition of the absolute most important word in the English language?

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud."

I will continue to shut Hate out, and I will fight hard for Love to be the most important four-letter word in my life. I will remember, no matter how hard Hate is hitting and tearing my country apart, Love is going to conquer. Love will ALWAYS conquer.

We, America’s people, ARE Love. You, Hate, are alone…and will always be defeated by the power of Love.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
