13 has come up fast, and I can't believe it was only a few years ago you were driving your toy cars around the driveway and spraying me with the hose. (Oh wait.. you still spray me with the hose.)
If your little brother is anything like mine, you have a best friend and an essential lifeline. He may be younger than you, but he's basically your big brother.
He's bigger than you. Literally, he's taller than you and it's kind of weird.
You look so much alike that pretty soon people are going to mistake you for twins. (Which is better than mistaking you for dating.)
My little brother looks out for me, he knows what I should be doing and what I shouldn't be doing. He knows what boys I should be talking too and what boys I shouldn't be talking too, if he likes them, you know and if he doesn't you definitely know.
You always have someone to go and eat with. Your little brother usually has the same taste in food as you do, and so if you want Japanese at 2 o'clock on a Sunday he's your co-pilot on the 20 minute drive to get some.
He makes vacations easier, there's no pressure with your little brother like there is with friends. You don't want to go out? That's fine, he'll lay in bed and watch a movie or go night swimming. He's always down for whatever you want to do.
He was there when you learned how to drive, so he knows how scary it was and how much you've improved.
He understands it takes you 40 minutes to get ready, so he isn't in any rush to go places.
Even though he is younger, he's still overprotective, and will look out for you under any circumstances.
He gets how crazy your family is, I've said it before, but really, no one understands except your family.
He keeps you young. Trips to Disney world are 10 times more fun when you have someone younger than you as your excuse to do all the things made for little kids.
You're basically his second mom, he listens to you because he has too. You're older and you're right.
He's your own personal secret keeper. He is the one person who will never betray your trust, and he guards your secrets with his life.
He does great little things, like loaning you his iPod touch when you're grounded, but accidentally tells on you when your Mom asks where his iPod is.
He takes in your pets, the ones you adopted for kicks but no longer want, such as the pet turtle, or the beta fish that sucked out his fish's eye.
He will tell you when he thinks what you're doing is right, or wrong, and he always gives his two cents because he loves you.
He does love you, which is why he is your little brother, and his love is unconditional.
