'Dead Rising 4' Announced!

The craziest kind of zombie video game has been announced for its fourth installment in the franchise, and I could not be more excited! "Dead Rising 4" was announced this past week at this year's E3 conference where video game publishers and designers reveal the titles they have been working on for the past couple of years and attendees are able to play demos of these games. I am very excited about "Dead Rising 4" as it is one of my all-time favorite video game franchises, and from the looks of it, "Dead Rising 4" will not disappoint.

"Dead Rising" is based on you as the player controlling the protagonist as he tries to survive battling thousands of zombies. The story of each game usually takes place over multiple days, and you have a clock counting down the whole time. If you do not complete all of the main missions by this time, you will not be saved. Fans' favorite part of these games though is the insane amount of zombies you are able to take down by using the craziest weapons you can think of while also battling psychopaths who have gone crazy during the outbreak.

Past Games

The first "Dead Rising" was released in 2006 and had you playing as Frank West, a photographer, who is trying to document a zombie outbreak. The game takes place in a shopping mall ("Dawn of Dead" anyone?), and you have three days to survive and find out the cause of the outbreak .

"Dead Rising 2" was released in 2010 and saw you play as Chuck Greene, an action sports star, who has to survive the outbreak with his little girl while also finding enough Zombrex, which is a medicine that delays the changing of a human into a zombie, for his little girl as she is infected with the zombie virus.

"Dead Rising 3" was released in 2013 and saw you control Nick Ramos, an auto mechanic, who with another group of survivors has to escape the city before it is hit by a military nuke to prevent all of the zombies from escaping.

Dead Rising's Charm

The allure of "Dead Rising" is that it is a zombie survival game that does take itself seriously while at the same time not. There could be a very emotional cutscene with the main character and a loved one, but through the whole thing , by your doing, the main character is wearing a mega man costume. This ability to have complete fun with the game while also delivering a strong and rewarding narrative is why fans have been playing this franchise over the past decade.

The best aspect of "Dead Rising" though is killing hordes of zombies with the craziest weapons you can imagine and by imagine I mean you will have to really turn that imagination juice on in order to believe some of the weapons you can find and make. "Dead Rising" had you be able to tear a 50 caliber machine gun off of a jeep and run around with it, while "Dead Rising 2" had the two chainsaws tied to a hockey stick or the two chainsaws tied to a dirt bike. And finally, "Dead Rising 3" had a giant teddy bear that could mow down zombies with twin machine guns. This is just a small sample of the kind of weapons you could have in these games.

I am hoping that "Dead Rising 4" builds upon the amazing gameplay features that "Dead Rising 2" and "Dead Rising 3" brought into this franchise. These features being the massive open world, literally being able to see thousands of zombies on your screen at once, the ability to combine weapons and tools to make insane weapons and the ability to combine vehicles to make zombie killing machines. These features truly changed how "Dead Rising" was played in a very good way.

Verdict

There is still a lot to know more about "Dead Rising 4," but from the trailers and gameplay I have seen so far, it seems as though Capcom is building upon what has made this franchise successful while also adding innovative new features to the game. "Dead Rising 4" is looking like it could possibly be the best game in the entire Dead Rising series and I sure hope it fulfills that role! I will leave you with some gameplay from the well-known Youtuber Arrekkz Gaming that he captured while at E3. I hope you all will join in on the fire breathing dinosaur mask zombie killing fun when "Dead Rising 4" hits the shelves!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
