25 Things You Should Know Before You Decide To Date A 'Car Guy'

He will need time to work on his car, he'll spend money on his car, and you will probably be taking his car when you go out.

Being in a relationship with a car guy is a little different. It means that he will need time to work on his car, he'll spend money on his car, and you will probably be taking his car when you go out. For some, that's time wasted. But for me and many others, we love it. There are a lot of things that factor into a relationship with a car guy, from constant car shows to being careful around any part of his car. Here are 25 things you should know about dating a car guy.

1. Seriously, car shows. And meet ups.

I mean it. If it's not a car show, then it's a meet up. Every weekend, random week nights, and even out of state.

2. You'll never go to a mechanic again

Not only will he fix whatever is broken for (probably) cheap, but he'll keep checking just in case.

3. You'll always hear when he arrives and when he leaves

Because there's a good chance that exhaust will be loud.

4. He'll be passionate — very passionate — about his car

Very... very... passionate.

5. You won't be eating or drinking in the car

Accidents happen, but he won't risk it in his car.

6. You'll never drive again

He'll always want to drive.

7. Don't. Slam. The. Door.

You'll hurt it!

8. Get ready for car shows and YouTube videos

YouTube is full of endless car videos, along with the discovery channel

9. He'll have more photos of cars than you

But per every 20 car photos, there may be one of you!

10. He'll probably want you to learn stick

Because who drives an automatic?

11. Cleaning the car is a process

Wash, rinse, repeat... over and over...

12. Get ready to park in the back of the parking lot

Get ready for that daily exercise, because he will take no risks around other cars and instead will park in an empty spot all the way in the back with at least four empty spots each way.

13. A lot of money will be spent on anything car related

Say goodbye to saving any money!

14. It'll be slightly easier to shop for him

The gift is simple: something car related.

15. He'll constantly talk about cars, even around your non-car friends

He'll never stop talking about cars, even once he's lost everyone's attention.

At least he's passionate!

16. You'll help him with his project cars

Even if it's just passing him a tool.

17. Some project cars will never get done

Some are just a lost cause and a loss of money.

18. His car will have a name

And you will respect it.

19. He will name every nice car on the street...

20. ... and you'll need to learn, too

21. Holding hands while driving? Nope.

You can't hold hands and drive a stick at the same time.

22. He thinks everyone on the street wants to race

It doesn't matter who it is.

23. You may be caught up in an actual street race

24. His car will be "his baby" and he loves her dearly

25. But he loves you more... really!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
