Change is Needed to Grow

Change is scary but also necessary.

Change is Needed to Grow

This is a response to the article, "How to Feel Optimistic About Change."

Change can be scary for some people who are so used to having the same schedules everyday, especially on weekends. However, in my opinion, change is necessary for growth and to develop to be a more well rounded individual. We all go through changes in our lives, whether they are good or bad. Nothing stays the same forever. Everyone knows that. It's either you can run away from change until it bites you or, you face change head time and accept it. I rather choose to face that change and embrace it.

I actually loathe having the same, boring schedule. Get up for my 8-5, eat dinner, exercise, scroll through Tik Tok, sleep, repeat. I honestly try to spice things up with my schedule. For example, writing this article or going out for coffee with a friend. Or do online or virtual volunteering. I'm trying to switch up my boring schedule. Having those changes to my everyday life makes my life more interesting. Not only I'm switching up my life, but I learning more about myself and what I actually want out of my life. Cause you know, we ain't gonna live forever.

In due time, I'll move out of Southern Maryland and embrace the change of moving to the city. To me, staying in my hometown for the rest of my life will not allow me to grow at all to the adult that I want to be. By the time I move out, besides my 8-5, I also want to pursue more modeling part time rather than freelance and also get back into dance and then, go into the acting scene for the first time. I'll still continue my pageant career though and also, hopefully, run for a nonpartisan office position in the future due to my strong desire to bring change to this world. As a multipotentialite, I needed to change to spread my wings and explore more of the world while also learning more about myself and what my actual purpose in this world is. I won't let anyone else tell me otherwise.

I've grown from a shy, quiet little girl to a more confident, beautiful woman because of change during my college years and beyond. Sometimes, I'm so baffled that people would want everything to stay the same. That's just not me. And I'm a believer that traditions were meant to be broken. Change is needed to break what doesn't work anymore.

If you're reading this, you can either sit on the sidelines and experience the same things everyday. Or you can go out there and make a change in your life in order to grow and live a more exciting life. I saying this as a quote of encouragement. Your time in this world is limited. Why don't you make some use of it by making yourself and life better through change? You have the right to make that choice.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
