If College Students Were Dogs

We are more alike than you'd think.

Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to be a dog, because they got to be lazy all the time and not have to face the day. Any day that I had to go to school, I'd wish that something like Freaky Friday would happen, and I'd switch bodies with my dog. However, I have discovered that us college students are actually dogs. We are loyal, dedicated, and bright-eyed. Here are some breeds to match up with our personalities.

The Outgoing Corgi

The Outgoing Corgi is exactly what it sounds like. They are the social butterflies: friendly, playful, and bold. They are the ones that stand out from the crowd and show off what they've got.

The Dedicated Doberman

The Dedicated Doberman is loyal to its friends and family. They are extremely intelligent and active. These are the students that are involved in a millions extracurricular activities and are insanely dedicated to their school's spirit.

The Best Friend Golden Retriever

The Best Friend Golden Retriever is the most reliable person you know. This is the person that drops everything to come to the rescue. You can trust them with anything without being judged because of their kindness.

The Shy Shih Tzu

The Shy Shih Tzu is very introverted. It takes time and patience to earn their trust. They are good natured but take some time to warm up to people. But after they feel comfortable with someone, you see how sweet and playful they really are.

The Goofy Boxer

The Goofy Boxer is quite the opposite of The Shy Shih Tzu. They are very welcoming: usually the class clown. This is the kind of person that is always down for a good time and loves getting out to explore.

The Athletic Yellow Lab

The Athletic Yellow Lab is the sporty friend who is always outside. They are always on the go: to practice, to the gym, or to the library to study. They are some of the most spontaneous people since they usually have to run on a schedule. Then, when they realize that they have some free-time they use it for those random road trips.

The Lazy Bulldog

The Lazy Bulldog is that one friend who would rather take a nap than finish that assignment that's due by midnight. They procrastinate and procrastinate until the very last second and then they go back to sleep.

Think of this article like when a dog and an owner look the same. They may not be exactly the same but they sure mimic one another. I mean, you wouldn't adopt a dog that was the complete opposite of your personality. I personally think it's neat to see the connections between different species and how much we as humans can relate to animals that aren't even as advance as us.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
