Christmas is over, New Year's has passed, and all the leftovers are gone. Could anything worse happen? Yup. You named it: School. Here are the top ten things that college students struggle with going back.

1. Food Struggles

No more homemade meals; it’s back to fast food and frozen dinners day and night. Better get used to it.

2. Waking Up Early

Time to set up those alarms again. No more sleeping the day away; you actually have obligations to meet and classes to attend

3. Lazy Professors

Isn’t it so convenient when the professor posts the syllabi late and you have to scramble to get the required textbooks in time for the first assignment? So much fun. Not to mention you probably won't even use the book. Basically, you're just going to the trouble to throw your money away.

4. Caffeine

For those of you who have managed to get off the caffeine addiction over break, congrats. But as essays are issued out and procrastinating gets out of control, you will soon find yourself victim to it once again.

5. Work & School Balance

Winter break was such a nice…break. No jumbling work and school, only having one to deal with, or maybe none if you took the break off. Welcome back to the stress and anxiety of balancing both lives together. Number four also applies.

6. Single Life

Coming back to school means getting to see all the cute couples who got engaged over break. Which, you're of course happy for but can’t help feel a twinge of envy towards.

7. Saying Goodbyes

Those three weeks off was so nice to spend your days laughing with your best friend and spending time with your family. Now you have to resort to texting and calling as a form of communication for the next four months.

8. Sharing A Room

After going back to your own lifestyle, it’s a bit of an adjustment to go back to living with roommates again. Especially with the different bedtimes, living habits, and sharing a fridge. It takes a few days to go back to normal.

9. Money

No more parents to hand you a quick twenty before you leave the house. Now you have to resort to your own savings and pennies you find in-between the couch cushions.

10. Fire Alarms

Welcome back to college where there’s always that one person that manages to set off the fire alarm at 3a.m. Have fun struggling to put on appropriate attire and standing out in the cold for a few minutes. If you have an early morning class, it makes the situation even worse.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
