We all need that boost in the morning, but when does that boost become an addiction? There are so many phases a coffee addict goes through on a daily basis. Sadly, it’s even harder to break the habit than it is to start it. Pretty sure “coffeeholics” are becoming more prevalent than alcoholics.
1. First thought when your alarm goes off: Coffee.
Whether you’re hung-over, recovering from an all-nighter, or trying to rally for an 8 A.M. all coffee addicts think about it right when they wake up. You low key probably dreamed about drinking it and just didn’t remember. If you’re a true coffee addict you will brew it the night before so you make sure it’s ready for you right away and all you have to do is sprint to the kitchen. You will refuse to talk to anyone until you get your first cup of the day down.
2. Your walk to class would be lonely without your coffee cup.
You know you are a coffeeholic when you are booking it to class with your coffee in hand. Even if you might be 10 minutes late to class, it doesn’t matter as long as you have your coffee. I mean let’s be honest, you probably wouldn’t make it through class without it anyway. Coffee should totally excuse tardiness.
3. You trail the scent everywhere you go.
Dead giveaway. The smell of coffee is absorbed into your clothes and there is no telling how many wash cycles will get through that. You kind of love it though so many of you keep that one jacket you always wear when you go into coffee shops. You don’t need perfume if you’ve got that all natural coffee scent.
4. You get literal anxiety when you are onto your last Keurig cup.
That feeling when you need to use your last k-cup is the worst feeling in the world. Pretty much you drop everything else you’re doing to plan your next Costco or grocery trip because you can’t go one day without it.
5. If you are out of contact…everyone knows where you’ll be.
SURPRISE you’re most likely found at a coffee shop on or off campus. This is pretty much your second home. You are more likely to be here than in your apartment. You could trade any study spot for a coffee place. You're confused why people even need to think twice about where you are...?
6. You feel adventurous switching it up.
What better way to keep your coffee addiction alive than switching it up? There is no possible way to get bored of coffee when they have vanilla, hazelnut, coconut, and so many more. Hot? Cold? Venti? Tall? Don’t even worry. Coffee adjusts itself to be everything you want. It never lets ya down.
7. You are more committed to your relationship with coffee more than any person in your life.
If bae texts you to come over but you haven’t had your coffee yet guess who’s going to come first? Coffee never fights with you because it loves you and you love it. For real coffee makes you feel great and wide-awake, which is why it’s your biggest priority. Coffee comes first always and everyone else can wait.
8. You find a thrill in trying new coffee shops.
Find yourself in a random town? No problem for you because there has to be a coffee shop somewhere there. Thanks to Siri you have at least five different options in a five-mile radius. So when you need a change of scenery, just drive to a random one.
9. No one ever needs to worry about what to get you for your birthday.
Your family never worries about what to get you because most likely you would be completely content with a Starbucks or Dunkin gift card. Actually, that’s pretty much all you want.
10. There is no specific time for when you can have your coffee.
If it’s late afternoon, nighttime, 2 A.M. you know you can get through it all with your coffee by your side. Doesn’t it feel great how something can have your back no matter what?
If you have read this and aren’t a coffeeholic I’m sure you will probably be persuaded to become one. Simply the best way to live and ~thrive~. If you are a coffeeholic then just keep doing you because you’re living life right.
