Christmas is right around the corner I can already smell the Christmas trees that will be set up in my house. Christmas is my favorite time of the year so of course I'm going to find away to decorate my dorm room. If you're just as filled with holiday cheer you should follow these few simple steps to having the ultimate Christmas room decorations.
First things first, you are going to need a christmas tree. Now according to the dorm polices we are not a loud to have real plant life in the dorms. So you will just have to settle for a little tree from Walmart. If you're buying a tree from Walmart make sure you get the one that already has lights on it. While you are at Walmart don't forget to get a tree topper and a few mini ornaments to cover your tree with and if you feel like splurging pick up the skirt that wraps around the bottom of the tree.
Now that we have the tree covered we're going to move on to the door decorations. So we all have those really cute name tags the RA made us still on our doors, but it's time to give our door some holiday cheer. Buy two (or how ever many there are in a room) little mini stockings red or green work, and get some puff paint. Then you are going to write your name on the white part of the stocking and hang them up on the door. Ta-da you have a cute new name tag for your door. another great idea for the door is to get a Christmas wreath and hang it up on there to get the rest of the hall into the holiday cheer.
Moving onto the bigger challenge, the bed room. depending on the size of your dorm you can always come up with a creative way to make it feel like Christmas. For the windows pick up some of the gummy window stickers to put up. There are so many out there, we have a little santa and the words "Merry Christmas". Also get some Christmas lights to run around the room. Depending on where you live the max set of strands you can have is 3. Bonus you can leave them up all year and no one will care at all. Another key thing to make the room just right is, tinsel. Pick up some red and silver and twist them together and run it on the top on the window or even on your door if you would like. When you mix the two colors is kind of looks like a candy cane.
And lastly the finishing touches, put on the Hallmark channel and have endless Christmas movies playing in the background. Or pull up the Christmas pandora station and leave it playing whenever you are in the room.
Now that you have everything you need to make your little time left of the semster filled with Christmas siprit put it all togther and have yourself a merry little Christmas now.
