To The Person Who Cares Too Much, You Are NOT Weak

You have a huge heart, and you should be proud.

To The Person Who Cares Too Much, You Are NOT Weak

Dear whoever you are,

I am right there with you. You are the type of person who is described as selfless but also overreacting. You are the person that will go out of their way to make someone happy when you know they might not deserve it. You might also be the person who gets attached too easily, even to TV characters, but that does not make you a weak person.

On the other hand, you are stronger than most. Having such a big heart can be deceiving because as much as you care about people, you learn a lot about those around you. You can see right through those who probably do not have the best intentions, but you do not care. You only want to see the good in people.

This is the best quality you have, and people know this about you, therefore it is easy to be taken advantage of. You are the person your friends come to when they need something because you are always more than happy to help, but they are hardly there when you just want to talk. At the same time, they hardly appreciate it and do not realize what your friendship means.

Only those with the same heart as you understand what it’s like to constantly give people second chances even though you know you are going to get hurt. You look past people’s imperfections with hope that they will care about you as much as you care about them.

Friendships aside, relationships are even worse. You become the partner who will do anything for the one you are with. Therefore, heartbreak is foreshadowed.

But because of these heartbreaks, you become stronger. You never stop caring about others, but you do learn to be the person who cares but is also strong.

A person who will always put others’ needs before your own and will always genuinely care about how a person’s day is going, is rare nowadays. Cherish your gift and never let anyone tell you that you are wrong for caring because they do not know what it is like to love someone dearly and living in disappointment because our expectations are never met.

Celebrate this gift you have because as much as it is a blessing and curse, your actions towards others makes this world a better place. You are the type of person that one day, if you have not already, will make an impact in someone's life and hopefully the world as whole.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
