Cam Newton lights up any room with his million dollar smile. It is hard not to instantly fall in love with his charismatic personality and well-deserved confidence. His incredible talents have left Panthers fans in awe when he dabs after yet another touchdown. Business Insider called Cam Newton, “the greatest football player on the planet.” and stated, “The NFL will never be the same.” Breaking records like its his job, Newton demolished Peyton Manning’s record by 120 yards when he threw 400 yards in his first game, he ran 14 touchdowns in a season, more than any other NFL quarterback in history, broke Otto Graham’s record of 61 years for passing yards by any rookie quarterback, and he broke yet another record when he threw 30 touchdowns in a single season and rushed for ten of them.
In addition to his football talents, he generously gives back to the community on a regular basis. He lifts the spirits of sick kids in the hospital, he spearheaded and actively runs the Cam Newton Foundation, which is committed to addressing the social, physical, and educational needs of the youth, and he makes sure to give a lucky kid a football after each Panther touchdown. After one long practice, Newton removed his cleats and signed one before giving them both to fan, Brian Cooper, as a gift. Cam spoke with him and then made his way back to the locker room in his socks. His love for life is contagious and inspiring. His genuine kindness is so rare and such a beautiful thing to witness. Many of his good deeds go unrecognized, but that does not stop Cam from spreading his love to everyone he comes in contact with.
It actually confuses me when someone says they don’t like Cam Newton. I assume their hate must stem from their lack of knowledge or pure jealousy. Yes, Cam dabs after making a touchdown, but Rogers jumps around and skips, Watt pretends to take selfies-- how is that any different from Cam?
Cam Newton is still criticized by his haters for the way he acted after the Panther’s Super Bowl loss. Let me remind you Peyton Manning acted in a similar way after the Colts lost to the Saints at Super Bowl XLIV. He ran off the field and did not shake hands with any of the Saints players. Cam did reach out to Peyton after the Super Bowl game and congratulated him. Yes, he was upset, but wouldn’t you be too if you had just lost such an important game? His behavior exhibits just how committed he is
to his team and his sport. It shows his passion for the game. Football is personal for him and that is why he is so successful and the face of the NFL. So if you’re okay with Peyton’s actions, but not Cam’s then you need to seriously reevaluate your double standard. Cam is not only a good person, he is the most gifted player in the NFL. This short article barely scratches the surface of all of Cam's accomplishments. It would be impossible to consolidate his amazing work on and off the field into any article.
So sorry haters, your argument is simply invalid and empty-- as Cam says, “too bad they don’t make band-aids for feelings.” Nothing will stop Cam from dabbing.
