Ratings have always been a hot topic when the newest Madden game nears release and this year is no different. There are only four 99 overall players this year in Madden 20, with three of them being on defense. The highest-rated Bulldog in the game is Todd Gurley II who comes in at an impressive 97 overall. Geno Atkins is the second highest at a 91. Georgia has nine newcomers to Madden this season with seven players being drafted and two signings after the 2019 draft's conclusion. With the full slate of ratings recently becoming available, we can now see how the former Bulldogs check-in.
Deandre Baker - NYG, 71
Mecole Hardman - KC, 70
Riley Ridley - CHI, 69
D'Andre Walker - TEN, 68
Isaac Nauta - DET, 67
Lamont Gaillard - AZ, 66
Terry Godwin - CAR, 65
Jonathan Ledbetter - MIA, 63
Elijah Holyfield - CAR, 63
Deandre Baker is, fittingly, the top-rated Bulldog in this year's class as he was the first one selected in the draft. Mecole Hardman and Riley Ridley are candidates to see their ratings rise after the season's inaugural kick-off because of their projected work loads. One of the sneakiest pick-ups was Jonathan Ledbetter, who will have every chance to win a spot in Miami's pass rush rotation.
Madden has made a substantial overhaul to the ratings system this season. EA has come out and said they wanted more of a spread in ratings and did not want all players bunched between the 70-99 range. Quality starting players in the NFL could end up being in the mid to high 60s when it is all said and done. These ratings may seem low to start but with the new rating system and the fact that we haven't seen how they play in-game, they might be better than expected. Keep in mind that Madden adjusts ratings throughout the year as well based on in-season performance so these are not set in stone.
The highest-rated rookie in this year's edition is Quennian Williams, who comes in with an 88 rating. The next highest is Ed Oliver at a 79 and Nick Bosa at 78. The top quarterback in the game is the 2019 draft's first overall selection, Kyler Murray, of the Arizona Cardinals.
