During the first game of the NFL (National Foosball League) this year it was a rematch of Superbowl 50 which was the Denver Broncos vs the Carolina Panthers. With a lost against the Broncos for Superbowl 50 it leaves a bad taste in their mouth. The game did not turn out so well for Cam Newton the reigning MVP winner for the Panthers. The plan to start off the 2016-2017 season is by getting a win. The game started out good for the Panthers since they were up 17-7 at halftime. Everything seemed like a win for the Panthers to get their revenge on the Broncos. Instead it did not turn out that way since the Broncos were able to come back from that deficit to get the win. The Panthers had a chance to win the game but their field goal kickers missed it. In the way of winning the Broncos totally destroyed Cam Newton by hitting him 17 times while he was passing or rushing. As a quarterback Cam was taking a beating during that game. He was not getting protected by his offensive line at all. The type of hits that were coming at him was ridiculous. The Broncos were hitting Cam in the helmet. Those type of hits are not allowed because of the fact that the NFL now knows they can cause concussions later on in the future. With this being the case those hits were supposes to be penalized and the players could of been ejected from the game. The referees during the game did not protect Cam. The quarterback position is supposed to be protected the most throughout the game. Unfortunately that was not the case with Cam. He was taking endless head shots. The referees did not pay attention that most to those hits because Cam is supposed to be evaluated for a concussion. He kept on playing throughout the game which is against the protocol of the NFL. Throughout the week the NFL should handle this problem by looking at film and fine players for their actions. This is not acceptable that they allowed Cam to get brutally destroyed by the Broncos. The way that the NFL preaches about quaterbac safety it did not look like that was the casse for Newton.
