Virginity is one of the most taboo topics that has been constantly used to tear down women's reputations. However, a woman's virginity cannot be determined by a slit of little skin inside of her vagina. This little slit people like to call "the Hymen" has been trapping women worldwide for years. Women have had to prove their virginity through bloody bed-sheets in order to convince their husband that they are, in fact, a virgin.
Women do not understand why men want virgins, while they sleep with dozens of other women. Men do not get to be called whores because of the hymen. "Boys will always be boys" because of the hymen. "A good lock cannot be opened by every key" because of the hymen. No one likes to pretend that a knife that's used too much gets dull or that everyone wants to get inside a house that stays warm and moist in the winter.
Here are a couple of hymen myth busters:
1.) Hymens are broken during sex alone.

Hymens can break after simple tasks like extraneous exercise or every day activity. If a hymen could cover our canals, how would our periods rush through, anyway?

2.) You can tell that a woman isn't a virgin because she feels so comfortable during sex. In fact, if she feels amazing during her first time, you're doing a great job. It means her canals are lubricated well and her muscles are relaxed enough for penetration. Blood on the bed-sheet is not a trophy. Pain during the first time often means the muscles aren't completely relaxed and it is trying to adjust. A woman can have sex dozens of times and still feel this pain, just because she's a virgin doesn't mean she shouldn't learn how to enjoy herself.

3.) A woman can still enjoy sex without penetration and having an intact hymen. There are many ways a woman can achieve orgasm and it doesn't have to deal with her spreading her legs. Clitoral orgasms exist, hello?

4.) Some girls are born without hymens. If a girl is born without a hymen does that mean she had sex in the womb? Of course not.

There's oral sex, masturbation, and anal. Yet, we only consider someone's virginity to be taken away by a penis or penetration? Yeah. Okay...

Stop using the hymen as an excuse to entrap women. Use that energy instead to uplift and educate one another on what tactics are being used to suppress women's sexuality.
