If you are new to Boston, you probably have already heard about the hundreds of awesome things there are to do and explore in the city. Hopefully this list will give you some ideas of things to make sure you add to your Boston bucket list!
1. Beacon Hill
Beacon Hill is an adorable residential neighborhood in Boston home to shops and nice places to eat. The main attraction in Beacon Hill is one of the most photographed locations in Boston, Acorn St. This street is known for its authentic cobblestone road making it the perfect place to stop for an Instagram worthy picture.
2. Glowing Swings
These unique swings can be found on the Lawn on D in South Boston. The surrounding area is an interactive park that is open until early October.
3. Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market
While these may be obvious sights on your Boston To-Do list, they are still worth mentioning. Faneuil Hall is an old market place featuring shops like Urban Outfitters, Victoria’s Secret, and Coach. Quincy Market is a complex right next door that is home to tons of different places to eat. Sometimes, you will even catch a street performer or two in this area.
4. Fenway Park
Catching a Red Sox game at America’s oldest ballpark is a definite must if you are in Boston. The team spirit is unmatched and the stadium views aren’t too bad either.
5. TD garden
Hockey or basketball fan? Then TD Garden is your place to be. It is home to the Celtics and the Bruins, not to mention some pretty awesome concerts if sports aren’t your thing.
6. Charles River Esplanade
The Esplanade is a park located in the Back Bay. Perfect for a run (or walk), the Esplanade features gorgeous views of Boston and even some parks along the way.
7. Boston Commons
The commons is a park located in downtown Boston. The 50 acres of green breaks up the cityscape and provides a great place for relaxation. If you love dogs, there is a dog park located in the Commons that would make the perfect pitstop.
8. Newbury St.
If you want to shop in Boston, this is the place to do it. Some of the stores located on this iconic street are Forever 21, Lulu Lemon, and Nike.
9. Frog Pond
Located in the Boston Commons, the Frog Pond is a cool place to spend an hour or two in the city. In the summer, the Frog Pond is home to a carousel, spray pool, and a nice place to relax but int he winter, the pond features an ice skating rink.
10. Copley Sq.
Copley is a public square in the Back Bay that is home to a number of important architectural works as well as a bunch of cute places to shop and eat.
11. Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
This museum exhibits contemporary art as well as concerts and lectures. The most well known part of the museum is the beautiful courtyard featured at its center. Helpful tip: the museum fee is discounted to anyone wearing Red Sox memorabilia and free to anyone named Isabella.
12. Skywalk
The skywalk is located inside the Prudential Center. The elevator takes you up 50 floors and offers 360 degree views of the city as well as a guided audio tour for information about Boston.
13. Boston Naval Shipyard
The Shipyard is a great place to go if history is one of your interests. Home to the USS Constitution as well as the USS Cassin Young, the Shipyard is sure to provide a knowledge-filled afternoon.
14. Kayaking on the Charles
Want a less seen view of Boston? Kayaking on the Charles River is surely the way to go. Look up one of the many different stores that rent kayaks and paddle boards and go have some fun.
15. Sledding on Flagstaff Hill
Located in the Boston Commons, Flagstaff Hill should be any Bostonians first stop after a snowstorm.
