You're in the middle of a busy week. I get it. We all have those weeks where it feels like we're holding our breath for just five minutes of free time that never comes. And it is discouraging to be so busy and pulled so many directions all at once.
So my encouragement to you is to find rest in Jesus. He is the only one that can carry you through this busy week and the next one and the next one. He provides our peace, love, and redemption that we could never find anywhere else. Find rest in that this week. These verses develop who God is; and even though we are often stressed out, anxious, busy, or unsatisfied, he satisfies.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. // John 14:27
When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. // Psalm 94:18-19
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. // Philippians 4:4-9
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. // Psalm 56:3
May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. // Colossians 1:11-14
Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it. // 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. // Deuteronomy 31:28
Though some of these verses may seem a bit random, they all pertain to the steadfastness of the Lord. He will continually hold you and care for you. There is nothing that you should fear or stress about, even during this week. He sanctifies and redeems us, even as broken sinners. The truths of His word should be enough.
