As we make our way through the end of the semester, thoughts of nostalgia are rushing through our heads. Final exams are almost over, and the walls in our dorms and apartments that were once covered in posters and paintings now stand bare. The reality is, we are headed home for the summer. Don't get me wrong, summer is one of the best seasons. Nothing beats spending hours in the sun, splashing in the pool, and gaining invaluable experiences at our internships, but one thing is for sure- No matter where a falcon roams, he or she will always miss home! Bowling Green State University isn't just our school; it 's our home away from home, and I don't know about you, but there are quite a few things that I am definitely going to miss.

1. Walking Past the Seal

There's something so special about passing the seal on your way to class. Regardless of whether you're running late or rushing to a group project, you never fail to walk to the right of the seal. I mean, who would risk passing on the left and failing their next exam?

2. The Friendly Campus Atmosphere

Sure, there are plenty of other colleges across America that claim they have the friendliest and most beautiful campus, but I bet they've never been to BGSU. The organizations that pass out flyers in the oval or people bombarding you at Union Tables might be annoying, but their kindness doesn't go unnoticed.

3. Legal joints at Brathaus

No other bar makes it better than, Brat. Period.

4. The First Saturday of the Month Tornado Sirens

Okay, it's probably not the greatest thing in the world, but at least we know we're safe, right?

5. The Clock Tower Ringing in a New Hour

Have you ever walked through campus at the change of the hour? If you have, you've probably heard the clock tower dinging. I'm going to miss hearing those 12 rings when I'm passing through campus on my way to lunch.

6. Union Food

This one might be debatable, but food from the Union sure beats the "food" from the dining halls. Am I right?

7. The Chugga-Chugga-Choo-Choo of the Train

Every night, without fail, no matter what time you go to bed, you won't be able to fall asleep until you hear the whistle of the train. It really has become part of your nightly routine.

8. Going to the Game

No matter what time of the year, BG is always hosting some sort of sporting event. From football and hockey games to swimming and gymnastics meets, you can find a game to go to and support you fellow falcons.

9. Freddie & Frieda

Speaking of falcons, BGSU has the best and most spirited birds around!

10. SIC SIC signs

Because how else do you know what's going on around campus?

11. "Club Jerome"

Unfortunately, the library is sometimes referred to as "Club Jerome." Why? I'm still not sure, but the library has become your second home while at school. From late study nights to tutoring sessions, Club Jerome will always hold a special place in your heart.

12. Canvas

LOL JK! I'm going to take the next 12 weeks to pretend that Canvas doesn't exist.

13. The Rec

Yeah, you probably have a gym to workout in at home, but there's no better place to get your sweat on than at the Student Rec Center.

14. Late night trips to DQ

It might not be exactly the same as it used to be, but sometimes, an over-sized Blizzard is just what the doctor ordered!

15. Squirrels!

You're lying if you say you won't miss BG's feisty, furry little friends.

16. The Best Friends You'll Ever Meet

College introduces you to some of the best people you'll ever meet. You'll leave here with some great friends and even greater memories! Even though you'll see some of them soon, 12 weeks just seems so long!

Even though we come from all different parts of the country, Bowling Green State University is our home. We spend nine months of our lives here, sometimes it is just too hard to leave. If you're graduating, don't forget to come back and visit us, and if you still have some time left here, see you soon!

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.
