Now Disney has multiple parks known as the "Happiest Place on Earth". How you find that happiness can be through a multitude of ways, be it the memories you make with your family or maybe the yummy park foods you get to indulge on. I spent quite a bit of time wandering around the parks snacking on all that I could find during my program and I think there are some foods that don't get enough appreciation , so here is a list of some foods that are my favorites that you should check out on your next trip, also there are going to be some obvious ones that can't be left out.
Disneyland
1. The Pineapple Dole Whip Float
Oh goodness just looking at this picture makes me want one now. If you haven't heard about this little beauty you are missing out. It's the creamiest pineapple ice cream you'll ever have, that is so yummy you'll probably get a brain freeze from how quickly you eat it and the thing that makes it better is the Dole pineapple juice making it taste even fresher (well as fresh as ice cream can get).
Where can you find it?: Right in front of Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room with the enormously long line.
2. The Monte Cristo
Yep, a fried ham, turkey, and cheese sandwich with blackberry jam and of course the added powdered sugar for flavoring. As for the side grapes, well those are pretty much decorations. It's one of those foods that you probably should share but you really don't want to because it's so good. The vegetarian alternative of this sandwich is delicious as well where it's a fried grilled three cheese.
Where can you find it?: The Blue Bayou (during lunch) and Cafe Orleans (where it's a little bit cheaper than Blue Bayou).
3. The Creole Bone-In Porkchop
Offered during the Halloween season, this is a slightly spicy but yummy pork chop with juicy greens and say it with me "Goat Cheese Mashed Potatoes". I ordered it as a penny in the air sort of ordeal and was so happy with the outcome. I'm really hoping this is something that can maybe make it onto the regular menu sometime soon.
Where can you find it?: The Blue Bayou (during their dinner hours)
4. Cream Cheese Pretzel
This one might be an acquired taste but I love it!. It's a plain pretzel with a little bit of cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top and inside is sweet cream cheese. It's a yummy alternative if you're not feeling for the regular salt and cheese dip pretzel.
Where can you find it?: At the pretzel stand by Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters and Star Tours
5. Countdown Chicken Fusili
It's not one of my top favorites but I still enjoy it. If you like you're pasta with sauce and then a side of pasta this is the one for you. It's a quick meal to grab while you wait for your Fastpass for Hyperspace Mountain to come up. It's nothing but good creamy alfredo/pesto-ish sauce and cheese. If you're not feeling pizza at the Pizza Port, this pasta is for you.
Where can you find it?: Redd Rocket's Pizza Port in Tomorrowland
Disney's California Adventure
1. The Tomato Bisque in a Bread Bowl
When the weather gets to California's version of cold this is the perfect thing to warm you up. It's a creamy and lovely tomato soup in a bread bowl (nothing better then edible dishes). A personal thing I like to do with this dish is tear off a piece of bread cover it in butter then dip it in the soup.
Where can you find it?: Pacific Wharf (you can find this soup mostly during fall/winter)
2. Ocean Beach Sea Salt Caramel Sundae
Writing this article is getting really hard because now I just want to eat everything I write about but man, this one. It's the best, it's salty, it's sweet, and a dentist's worst nightmare. This is another one of those items where you probably should share it but don't want to. Every time I eat this I always feel like I'm wearing it from how messy the sauce is. Switch out the plain vanilla ice cream for Ghirardelli chocolate and hear the choir of angels sing!
Where can you find it?: Pacific Wharf at the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain.
3. Roast Beef and Cheddar Sandwich
It's a strange taste combo of both spicy, sweet, and savory. If you're not a fan of horseradish this may not be the thing for you but it's super yummy and has a fun dining atmosphere to enjoy it in. Try and eat this during sunset and watch as Carsland's neon lights turn on to the tune of "Life Could Be a Dream" just like the scene in the movie.
Where can you find it?: Flo's V8 Cafe
4. Chili Lime Corn on the Cob
Another one that's not one of my top favorites but it deserve's an honorable mention. Be prepared to pull out the dental floss after munching on this delicious treat a fun thing to try along with it is mayonnaise, it's a weird combo but they pair well together.
Where can you find it?: Right at the food stand where they sell turkey legs by Toy Story Mania on Paradise Pier
Downtown Disney
1. Beignets
Now I'm sure you're thinking "why would I mention these if they sell the same thing inside Disneyland?" Well what if I told you they are two completely different types of Beignets. The one's sold inside the park are hollow shells of the real thing where these are made with the exact recipe as Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans itself. These are absolutely perfect ones to eat if you're missing the famed restaurant in New Orleans and of course you should have a small side of Chicory coffee to dip these into.
Where can you find it?: Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen Express.
2. Holiday Turkey
We all know the second best thing about Thanksgiving is the leftover sandwiches you get to make when it's over. Well with this sandwich you can eat it whenever you want. It's a delectable turkey sandwich with stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a little bit of gravy in there.
Where can you find it?: Earl of Sandwich
