Starbucks, the drink of winners, by winners—I mean white girls everywhere. Although I make fun of it all the time, I will order the cinnamon dulcé latte with great pride while in my large sweater and Nike sneakers. I am a size small, mind you.
Being a full-time student isn't easy, so when I feel like I'm going to face plant into the concrete walkway while walking to class, I choose a nice Starbucks coffee instead. Now, my college doesn't have a real Starbucks, in fact, the closest one is 30 minutes away. I've lived in this state long enough to know where the best locations for Starbucks are, and now, I'm here to share my knowledge with you.
1. The Starbucks in between Nicholasville and Centre College
Located on the other side of the freeway, this Starbucks has everything. A complicated entrance, a Lowes next door, and a guy who looks a lot like John Stamos. They even have the smell of desperation, you know, that one smell when students from Centre College have just had enough of Cowan coffee and are willing to spend $4 on a tall Pumpkin Spice Latte? That smell.
2. The Starbucks in Frankfort
For all you Louivillians out there, do I have the Starbucks location for you. Located 20 miles past the McDonald's on the way to the I-64, this Starbucks has it all. Trendy interior design that looks like you're in a barn, outside that looks like a trap house, and remnants of the 2007 recession next door. This Starbucks is a must, must, must; especially if you're willing to annoy whoever is driving you to go the extra 20 minutes out of the way for a delicious cup of coffee.
3. The Starbucks at the Paddock Shops
If you're feeling extra risky today, then do I have the Starbucks location for you! Located in the upper middle class white suburbs of the East End of Louisville, this Starbucks location is in the middle of a giant strip mall called the Paddock Shops. What's a Paddock Shop, you ask? It's that thing horses go to before they're about to race, but they're standing there for hours on end, so when they hear the siren song of mother nature, they just let it rip in the stall. Why it's called this, don't ask me.
This Starbucks location has everything! Congested roads, people jaywalking, and if you listen closely, you can hear the New Jersey accent of my mother while she tries to return clothes. Magical.
4. The Starbucks near my House
This is probably the best location for a Starbucks in Louisville. Located two minutes from my house, this place has all of my hopes and dreams ready for me at $4 per cup. Formally a PNC bank that was abandoned for four years, this location has brought back an aesthetic that is unparalleled... for Kentucky standards. If you look closely, you can still see the door paint of a 2005 Chevy Silverado that went too close to the drive-through window.
Kentucky Starbucks is where it's at, giving you and your family one memorable experience at a time.
