For any white girl, Starbucks is a staple no matter what time of year or day it is. With the many different flavors and beverages this coffee shop offers, who wouldn't feed an addiction to the best coffee-based drinks money can buy? This article is for anyone who has developed an addiction and isn't afraid to admit it.
1. You already know your order before you walk into the store and are anxious to get it.
No questions need to be asked by anyone you're with. They know what you order as fast as you do and you get impatient when there is a family of four in front of you debating if they want a tall or a grande.
2. Speaking of which, everyone you know is fully aware of your addiction.
My family and my closest friends know that they can’t go to a Starbucks without feeling a little guilty they didn’t pick me up something. Starbucks FOMO is real.
3. You know where every local Starbucks is and who makes the best drink.
My place of employment is right next to a Starbucks in a mall, which surely doesn’t help my addiction. And, I know where three others are located. Luckily for me, the closest Starbucks to my house makes the best drinks.
4. You have the app and use it so frequently, you may already be a Gold member.
This app is genius and probably the best thing since sliced bread. Using your location you can order a drink when you are near a Starbucks, and within ten minutes it's ready to pick up. You won’t have to wait in that pesky line.
5. You know what’s in almost every drink and know all of the seasonal specials before they come out.
This may be because I was a barista for four months, but a true Starbucks addict can tell the difference between a flat white and an americano. You get excited when you see the menu change to Christmas themed, and then to Spring themed (peach green tea lemonade from now until October!).
6. The Red Cups (and the short-lived spring-themed cold drink cups) are a big deal.
Sure, they don’t say Merry Christmas on them, but as a staple for so many years you’re just as happy to see them.
7. Your addiction probably started out at 13 years old going with your parents, and the only thing you were allowed to get was a vanilla bean Frappuccino.
Stopping in before you were dropped off at school or out running errands with your parents made you feel like a grown-up. With your Starbucks in hand, you never felt so cool.
8. When people say they go somewhere else to get coffee.
No, Saxby’s isn’t the same. Neither is Dunkin'.
9. There is no deciding on what size you want to get, because it's always Venti.
The bigger, the better. Most of the cold drinks are half ice, anyway, so you’re really not consuming that much caffeine...
10. You realize that you could be spending this $5 on something more important, like contributing it towards gas or food.
But then you realize that this is the best coffee/tea on the planet, and it’s all worth it.
