Halloween is upon us! In my time here at FSU it has become apparent that Halloween is as much an event for young adults as it is for little children. I don’t understand why adults considered us “too old” for Halloween in our teen years (I was just starting to get into scary Halloween costumes when I was told I was too old to dress up. Now I have to try to make old vampire blood work as lipstick. Don’t want to waste it!). Maybe it was just because people preferred to see the cute little kids dressed up and trick-or-treating, rather than terrifying teens. Whatever the case may be there is always one distinction of costume wearers that all people enjoy: pets! While someone else will write about the best Halloween costumes for people, I would like to share some of the best pet costumes of the year, on and off of FSU campus. Enjoy!

1. Princess

This little cutie is Blue, she makes quite the pretty princess. Blue looks like she was born to be a ruler and she totally rocks that sparkly skirt and bodacious bow!

2. FSU Cheerleader

How can you go wrong with this costume? You can't! This little fan, Annie, will never give up on her Noles, even during a very stressful season. I will cheer with you forever!

3. Jack-O-Lantern Cat

Cats can dress up too! Though they tend to put up more resistance than dogs (at least in my experience). Niko is sure to light up the night, or at least put some bright smiles on people's faces.

4. Lady Bug

Not all dogs can rock a red polka dot dress, but this pup, Allie, makes it look easy! Those antennas complete the look. Kudos to Allie for keeping them on, my dog never would.

5. Baseball Player

Speaking of my dog, this is Penny! She would not wear a hat but she still looks adorable as a baseball player for the Angels! This is probably one of the simplest and cheapest costumes to do for a pet. The shirt is simply my sister's old baseball uniform. You can take any old jersey and maybe even a little black paint on the face and voila! Instantly Instagram worthy.

6. Football Player

I absolutely LOVE pet costumes like this, where the costume makes it look like the animal has a human body. Zeke may be a little guy, but he has big dreams of chasing that pigskin all across the football field.

7. Soccer Player

This is my cat, Bella. She dressed up as an intense soccer player (at least that is what we are gonna call that look, rather than saying that she looks extremely angry about being dressed up). Her costume was actually a t-shirt for a Build-a-Bear stuffed animal.

I am not the most creative when it comes to picking costumes from my pets (hence my pets wearing sports jerseys). So I took to the internet to find the most popular costumes for this Halloween season.

1. Hillary Clinton

This doggy says "I'm with fur!"

2. Donald Trump

I am all for writing this stylish dog in on the ballot. He has the potential to "Make America Grrrreat Again."

3. Sushi Dog

This Corgi looks almost good enough to eat with chopsticks.

4. Ghostbuster

Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters! For a small fee of a few bones (Milkbones or human remains) this female canine will fetch any ghost or ghoul for you. She comes highly recommended by Abby Yates, and specializes in the removal of Class 4 Phantasms.

5. Avacato

Yes, avocado is spelled wrong. It is punny.

6. Iguanas

A new species of Iguana has been discovered. I give you the Pig Dragons!

7. Squirrel

This dog loves chasing squirrels so much that she wanted to become one. Though I am sure this squirrel will not attack if you steal her nuts.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
