Many of us have spent the past week gathered around the television with our friends and/or family watching many talented athletes strut their stuff and show off to the world why they deserve to be at the world's most well-known competition: the Olympic Games. This year the winter Olympics are being held in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and it is proving to be one of the most exciting Olympic Games yet, but not just for the sports!

Here are some funny moments, some that have already gone viral, from the games that I think deserve a gold medal.

1. When 17-year-old snowboarder Red Gerard said "holy f*ck" on live television

It was the sound heard around the world, and it made Red a teenage hero. Not only did he achieve his second Olympic gold medal in the men's snowboard slopestyle event, but he also managed to do it after losing his coat that day and oversleeping after falling asleep to Netflix the night before. I don't think I have ever related this much to an Olympian before.

2. Katie Couric inaccurately stating that skating is "an important mode of transportation" for the Dutch

"As you all know," she said, "it has lots of canals that can freeze in the winters. So, for as long as those canals have existed, the Dutch have skated on them to get from place to place, to race each other, and also to have fun"... Oh no, yeah for sure Katie. Especially in this modern day and age! They skate to school, to work, to the mall, to vacation destinations, and, ya know, just about everywhere else in the country! Just like how Texan's ride their horses everywhere, right?

3. The Finnish snowboarding coach that was casually knitting

While snowboarder Roope Tonteri was preparing to take on the slope in just a matter of seconds, his coach Antti Koskinen decided that best way to relieve tension from the situation was by knitting I guess? Why not I suppose.

4. When figure skating broadcasters were dressed like they were ready to shoot a scene from 'The Hunger Games'

5. The kid that tried to lick the NBC camera

He just really wanted to know what it tasted like.

6. The comparison of Tonga's flag bearer to a Philly street pole

It's safe to say people were a little thrown back during the opening ceremony when cameras zoomed in on Pita Taufatofua, Tonga's flag bearer, who was wearing nothing except a traditional skirt-like outfit from his nation and loads of body oil. Viewers took to Twitter to compare him to the greased poles in Philly due to Super Bowl-related riots.

Can't wait to see what other hilarious moments the Olympic games will bring us this year. And to all the athletes, as I'm sure figure skating commentators, Tara and Johnny, already said: "may the odds be ever in your favor."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
