Family and Friends, thank you so much for being here tonight. This is truly a special night for my future step-mother and my father. I couldn’t be happier for both of them. We are surrounded by not only our closest family but our friends as well. Tonight, many are missing out. As a matter of fact, many requested this to be televised. This is how much you both are loved by many friends and family members. Yes, CBS called and asked for the TV rights for the wedding this weekend, but I told them they would have to settle for the Super Bowl.
It is hard for me to put into words the events of tonight. Plato once said, “Humans were originally created with four arms, four legs, a head and two faces. Fearing their power Zeus split them into two separate beings, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.” And when my dad met Catherine, he found his other half.
You are both truly an inseparable couple, and for those of us who are fortunate enough to spend time with y'all every day, it’s a blessing to see how happy you both make each other. You would think with the hundreds of phone calls and texts back and forth that y'all would eventually get tired of answering, “My Love!” but your patience and love for one another is admirable. It is one I think the world needs, and it is something I hope to be present in my future as well.
Many of you know my father as a friend or business professional, and see how kind and talented he is, but I can assure you, that is just the tip of the iceberg. I know I speak for everyone when I say Dad, you are the most genuine person, always helping and going out of your way to do anything you can to help others. The same goes for your new wife and her endless love for her family and friends. Shes a blessing not only to my dad as his wife but also to me as a new mother.
My dad has been my teacher, mentor, friend and biggest critic. He is the reason I am the man I am today. He has taught me about business, life and given me a world of opportunities.
I joke with my dad and say I am the new and improved version of him, but in reality, I’m not sure you can improve upon the original blueprint, so I may just be the revised blueprint, with better looks.
Dad, thanks for always being you. For always telling me right from wrong, for pushing me to be the best new and improved version of you, and always showing me that life and happiness are simply the sum of your strongest relationships.
