This past Christmas, I received something that has ultimately affected parts of my life style: a fitbit. This little bracelet has had a big impact on my movements, and perception there of. Plus, it has the time! Anyways, in the past few months, I've noticed a few details that have come with wearing a fitbit. Also, it tends to bring out a more villainous side of an individual, more or less, or at very least, a slave to the movement.
1. When you start out, you don't understand people's dedication.
"Seriously, you wear it all the time?" "Why are you pacing?"
2. You explore all the features when you first get it.
Sleep Monitor? Heart Rate Monitor? Keeps track of calorie and water intake? Relaxation settings? A stopwatch? Phone notifications? Awww yeah.
3. It quickly becomes a signature accessory for any and all outfits.
Because, Lord knows, if you take it off, you won't get steps. And if you don't get steps, did you really go out at all?
4. Getting 10,000 steps makes you feel infinitely more healthy.
The American Heart Association says it's true, anyways.
5. You engage in random activities to reach step goals, in a fun way.
You might get all the steps you need in one zumba class alone, tbh.
6. You get genuinely upset when you forget your fitbit at home.
It sets you back! All those steps, and nothing to show.
7. You make small goals to reach your daily goals.
I use meal times. It helps validate that red velvet cupcake.
8. You form a solid group of people to compete with.
Serious inquiries only.
9. Rivalries are real, and you're perfectly willing to gang up on one person.
It could change at any given time, but *cough* you know who you are.
10. When someone becomes a dark horse in the game, there is only one reaction:
Because, who could've seen it coming? Until now, you couldn't really be sure if they moved at all.
11. You upload all your steps to the app at the end of the day.
There's strategy in every attack, whether it's in wars or in steps.
12. There is an immense feeling of satisfaction that comes with winning Workweek Hustle.
Getting that "w" is all that matters at the end of a long, hard week (but more importantly, seeing that one friend get the "L") and the little gold trophy is nice, too.
So, go forth and go forward.
