Ever get stuck in the rut of writer's block?

Fun fact, writing is actually good for you. It can help with and strengthen your problem-solving and reasoning skills, creativity and communication skills. The bad part? Most of us can never decide on what to write about. You sit down, get all comfy, and pull out your computer or journal then BAM! Writer's block comes out of nowhere and you're stuck sitting for hours thinking what kind of story to come up with. Well, wonder no more! Here's to all of you writer's blockers out there who need that extra umph!

Try writing about...

1. The best, worst, funniest and craziest parts of your day.

2. What you want to be when you grow up. If you're older, what did you want to be when you were little?

3. 10 things you want to do before you die.

4. You are the last person on earth and you can do anything you want. What do you do?

5. If you have a pet, what's the earliest memory you have with them?

6. If you don't have a pet, what animal would you choose to have as a pet and what would you name it?

7. You can pick one celebrity to spend one whole day with. Who would you choose and what would you do?

8. What is your biggest regret in life? How can you get past it?

9. What are some news events going on in the world today? Try reading an article and rewrite it based on zombies, or aliens if you're feeling crazy.

10. Write a haiku about eight random objects around you. Too easy? Try writing a limerick for each of the objects.

11. You're stuck on a deserted island with a rope, candy cane and a match. How do you get off the island?

12. You have $1,000 to go on vacation. Where would you go?

13. The world is now an alternate reality where everyone is a raccoon. What is it like?

14. A letter to the person you need to say something to but don't know how.

15. 20 things you love about yourself.

16. You go into space and end up getting sucked into a black hole. What is inside? How do you escape?

17. You are transported back in time to the wild west. You run into your ancestors and are amazed to find out that they are...

18. You can have any superpower and have to save the world from a giant monster. What superpower would you have and how would you beat the monster?

Hopefully this list will shine a little light on your writing predicaments and will allow you at least 18 days of things to write about. Still stuck? Try asking a friend or just simply looking around the room, I'm sure something will pop out! I challenge you to try journaling once a day. Even though it doesn't have to be a 5 page essay, a paragraph a day can significantly impact your productivity and emotional well-being.

Happy writing!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
