Ah, the NBA, an ever-changing landscape. Just this season, we have seen more up and downs from every team than we've ever seen in the five seasons before this one. My favorite team, the OKC Thunder, has seen its season in one of the wildest fashions. We have had win streaks, and then we have had losing streaks. Still, it has been a fun season to watch, and I truly see hope that this year's playoffs will be highly competitive.
1. The emergence of the 76ers.
The 76ers have been an incredibly fun team to watch recently, and this is due to the young core that they have developed through the riskiest rebuild any recent team has gone through. This includes almost five or six years of horrible records to build up for the future. Joel Emiid and Ben Simmons have been electric and have continually wowed audiences with their star potential.
2. Donovan Mitchell.
Hands down, best rookie to watch. No, not Ball, not Simmons, not even Tatum. In a highly competitive rookie class, Mitchell stands out. He is an electrifying dunker with all-star potential in the future, and I can't wait to see how he develops through his young career. The man has brought many fans to the Utah Jazz and has helped their popularity grow. What was supposed to be a down season following the loss of Gordon Hayward has been lost due to Mitchell averaging close to 20 points per game.
3. James Harden and Chris Paul.
I have a better chance saying these two are having the time of their careers than I do saying I will eat food tomorrow. When the trade for Chris Paul was made in the offseason, I laughed in an evil manner. This team was bound to have some chemistry issues with two ball dominant guards who were used to this. Oh, how I was wrong. This team is working flawlessly, currently has the best record in the NBA, and is the number one seed in the western conference. How this team has accomplished this is beyond me, but all I can hope for is that the Thunder to not play this flaming hot team in the playoffs.
