The sports at the University of Wisconsin have always been nationally renown but right now, people are really talking.
We have a history of excellence and it's only continuing this year.
The preseason rankings just came out for NCAA Men’s basketball and the Badgers are ranked ninth in the country. At the same time, the Badgers football team moved up from #11 to #8 after beating undefeated Nebraska and then to #7 after they won at Northwestern, meaning that both the men’s basketball and football teams are both in the top 10 in the nation.
And we are the only school in the entire country to have this reality.
Most schools excel in one area or the other but rarely both. Alabama has been a powerhouse in football for many years now but basketball is hardly a subject for them and Duke is a constant contender in basketball but their football is never in the running. Wisconsin is a different story. We are special and are only getting better, both teams are young and our coaches are just getting started with their new careers. Our basketball team is bringing back almost every person that played last year and the badger football team is looking to make it to the Big Ten Championship in December. Both teams are looking for a berth in respective playoffs. The basketball teams has their eyes set on yet another Sweet 16 appearance and the football team hopes to move on past the Big Ten Championship to the Rose bowl or something even better.
Wisconsin is excelling at almost everything you can think of right now:
#28 in the World Academically
#10 as a U.S. Public university
#7 in Football
#9 in men’s basketball
#4 in women’s volleyball
#1 in women’s hockey
and #1 party school
So yes, we are doing pretty great in all spectrums of college life.
Wisconsin is the place to be right now and it feels great to call this my school. It is always a great day to be a badger and we all know that when you say Wisconsin you’ve said it all but now the rest of the country is saying it, too.
