Are Clemson And Alabama Really A Lock For The College Football Playoff?
The Franchise

OK, so this past weekend I was wrong with some of the predictions I made in my last article. All of a sudden it looks like the Big XII may have the best chance of having a team in the College Football Playoff. For those of you who did not tune into the Bedlam rivalry this past Saturday, #3 Oklahoma gave the #11 Oklahoma State Cowboys a beating. 58-23 to be exact, which ends OK State’s chances at a chance for a national title. What it does do, is solidify Oklahoma in the top four ready to contend for the national championship.

Not only are they now in most likely, but of all the teams that could be bumped out of the top four they are probably the least likely. Oklahoma is done for the season, because of the Big XII’s lack of a conference championship game, while the other four power conference’s top teams will battle it out next weekend. The two teams that are ranked higher than Oklahoma are Clemson at #1 and then #2 Alabama. Now, it is very unlikely that these two teams will lose in their conference championship games, however, football is crazy and good teams can lose when you least expect it (TX-OU ring any bells?).

Clemson is going to face #14 North Carolina next weekend. This should be a breeze for Clemson, but the Tar Heels should not be overlooked. The boys from North Carolina have been on an 11-game win streak after losing their season opener. They have had some big wins this season including Georgia Tech, a ranked Pittsburgh squad, Virginia Tech, and NC State. No, these wins are not that impressive compared to Clemson, but the Tar Heels could be very dangerous if Clemson gets too complacent and expects to get a “W” without a fight.

The next team that could be unseated out of the playoff is the University of Alabama. The Crimson Tide will be facing the #12 ranked Florida Gators next Saturday in what should be a somewhat interesting and hopefully competitive game. Once again, like Clemson, Alabama should have no problems navigating their way to yet another SEC title. But the Gators are in the SEC and almost no SEC team should ever be discounted; they are known to be the nation’s best conference for a reason. They unseated then #3 Ole Miss early in the season And their only losses came to #6 ranked LSU and this past weekend against their in-state rivals, Florida State. Alabama has fallen victim in games late in the season against heavy underdogs, so do not be too quick to make them a lock for the College Football Playoff.

Oklahoma is essentially a lock at #3 at the least, and the team falling in to the final spot in the top four will be the winner of Iowa and Michigan in the Big 10 conference championship game. If Clemson or Alabama lose look for Pac 12, two loss victor, Stanford, or even a reappearance of Ohio State.

Make sure to tune in to these games this weekend to see how the College Football Playoff could be flipped on its head and change like no one expects

Alabama plays Florida next Saturday at 3 p.m. on CBS.

Clemson plays North Carolina at 7 p.m. on ABC.

Iowa plays Michigan State at 7 p.m. on FOX.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
