In my last article, I gave a couple of tips on what you could do to keep your New Years Resolution. I also mentioned that having a friend or a partner to help you is one way to make sure you stay on track. What I failed to mention is that that "friend" doesn't necessarily have to be an actual person. What I mean by that is that there are other resources out there that can play a huge role in holding you accountable, and since today we seem to be connected to our phones, tablets, and laptops more than ever, what better tool than an app? The Apple App Store usually gathers a list of apps that'll help you with certain lifestyle goals, but I've decided to gather my top five favorites that have been helping me out with keeping my goals.
1. Duolingo
If one of your goals for 2017 is to learn a new language, this is the perfect app for you. This is a free app, that allows users to learn up to ten different languages. It compiles different vocabulary in all different kinds of categories: people, clothes, greetings, phrases and more. Duolingo also allows you to set up notifications on your phone that'll remind you every day when it's time to do some more studying. The learning process uses matching, fill and the blank and even voice and audio to make everything easy to remember. This app is easy and simple to use and I give it an A-plus rating.
2. Simple Habit
If one of your goals for 2017 was to have more internal peace then this is a great app to use. Simple Habit is a meditation app that provides its users with a multitude of different seven-day sessions for almost every situation. If you're trying to sleep better, improve focus, or even just destress, Simple Habit has a handful of sessions that are guaranteed to relax you and declutter your mind. While this app is free to install in order to unlock the many different sessions you must pay a fee, $11.99 a month for a monthly subscription, $8.99 a month for a yearly subscription, or you can pay a one-time price of $299.99 for a lifetime subscription. This app also allows you to set up notifications on your phone that'll remind you when it time to meditate. This app is also available for Apple and Android devices.

3. Mint
If you're in college like me, then one of your goals absolutely has to be to save more money. The Mint app doesn't directly save you money but it allows you to take control of your spending habits and see it what ways you can cut back. With this app, you are able to add your bank account in order to see where you're spending the most money. Another cool feature is that it allows you create realistic budgets by combining your spending history with your monthly income. It even allows you to view your credit score and pay bills all in one place.
4. Sprinkle Of Jesus
Sprinkle of Jesus is an online Christian community app that offers many different features to its users. This app is perfect if your goal for 2017 is to become closer to God. This app offers a Bible feature, a feature where its users are able to listen to different sermons, and even a feature that sends positive and inspiring notifications to your phone. This app also plays a role in helping with entrepreneurship. They have a feature dedicated to people starting their own business that also offers specialized inspiring notifications sent to your phone daily.
5. Poshmark
Poshmark is the perfect app if your goal for 2017 is to clean out that junky closet of yours. Poshmark is an app where you are not only able to sell some of your old clothes, shoes, and accessories but also where you're able to buy other people's slightly used things. The good thing about Poshmark is that unlike in many thrift stores, these are slightly used to never used designer and name brand items that are usually sold for at least half the retail price. Get rid of unwanted pieces or gain new pieces you never knew you were missing.
The great thing about these apps is that they are all available for both Apple and Android devices. These apps have helped me keep some of my goals in 2016, and I plan on using them again this year to only help me more.
