God's Timing

A response to the article " Why God Took So Long To Give Me A Baby"

God's Timing

Some of you have read the article going around about the girl talking to her mom about why it took so long for God to give her a baby. The mother didn’t know how to respond, but the little girl knew just what to say.

“He was making me.”

I have a question for you all. I want you to be honest with yourself too… How often do you try to hurry God’s plan? How often do you question God’s timing? Honestly, we all do. As Christians we are taught that we need trust in God’s timing. We need to give it all to him, not worry, and let him worry for us. How often do we? Most of us wake up in the morning in a panic because we’re worries we’re going to be late for work. We worry about the kids while they are at school. We worry about what we are going to have for supper. We worry about our spouse. Why? Why do we worry when in the bible it says,

( 1 Peter, 5:7) " Cast all your care upon him; for He careth for you.”
We need to trust in God’s timing.

Some of us pray for children. We pray when we wake up, when we eat lunch, when we’re studying our bible, when we eat breakfast, when we eat supper, before we go to bed. We pray for a child. What exactly is a child? A child isn’t just a human that is made from two humans. A child isn’t just a product from sexual intercourse. A child is a blessing. A child is born a child of God. A child is an angel that God trusts us, as parents, to protect. A child is from the heart, chest, and hands of God himself.

So when we pray for a child, do we realize that we aren’t just praying for a baby to dress up, we’re not praying for someone to just carry on our name. We are praying for a blessing. We are praying for an angel.; but are we ready for that? Are we ready for not only the responsibility of a child, and to take care of another human, but are we ready to take on the responsibility of cherishing, taking care of, and loving one of God’s angels? Are we ready for such a blessing? Are we trusting in God’s timing of giving us that blessing? God knows when we are ready for the biggest blessing of all, all we have to do is trust in his timing.

Not worry, but cast all of our cares on him.

The next time you’re praying for a blessing, a miracle, ask your self are you willing to wait on God’s timing? Are you ready for the blessing? Are you giving it, fully, over to God? If so, your blessings will come, when God sees fit. When we’re on God’s timing, the blessings are even more amazing.

However, at times God's timing isn't our timing at all. God puts us in situations that are less than what we hoped for, but when God puts you there, you still have to trust his timing.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
