To my long distance best friend,
It has been exactly 8 months since since I moved into my dorm and boy do I miss you. I hope you are having the time of your life, meeting a bunch of new people, and are learning more than you ever have in your entire life. I remember the day that I met you: you had short hair, a uniform jumper on and a head band that matched. We became inseparable since day one. We argued like real sisters, and sometimes we still do. But now you're in South Carolina for college and I'm still in Ohio. My school year is winding down and I can't wait for you to come home. Here are eleven things that I miss most about living far from you.
1. Eating food with you. You're the only person in this world who will never judge me for only eating chicken nuggets with ranch all the time.
2. Seeing you every day. Remember when we would see each other every day? Now we just like each other's Instagram pictures and call it good.
3. Venting to you 24/7. I wish you lived with me because sometimes I really need you to talk to.
4. You understand me like no one else. You don't have to ask me about the small things, you just know.
5. You don't question my family. You now how weird they are. You're apart of my family just like I'm apart of yours.
6. Singing with you in the car. Remember when we could roll down all the windows in the car after school, blare music, and sing on the top of our lungs? I miss that so much.
7. Not judging me for not washing my hair 5 days in a row. We've both done it and by the end of the week we both encourage each other to just wash our hair.
8. Our inside jokes. I try to tell people in college why it's funny to, "hear a duck quack, press five," and no one seems to get it. Why don't they get it?
9. Having endless sleepovers. Remember sleeping over at my house 3 days in a row and then I'd sleep at your house for 3 days in a row. It was the sleepover that never ended.
10. Laughing with me for hours. Me and you can laugh forever. We just don't get bored with each other.
11. Being here with me through the good and the bad. You've stuck around with me through thick and thin which makes me miss you even more.
Thanks for being my person. You truly mean the world to me. This year is our sixteen year best friend anniversary and I am so grateful to have had you in my life for this long. I can't wait to see where we are in the next sixteen years.
Love,
Your best friend from home
