An Open Letter to A Trump Supporter

Dear Trump Supporter,

I’m writing you this letter because Election Day is right around the corner and I’d like to know if you are still standing by your candidate.

Not sure whether you supported him from day one or somewhere along the way, but I’m curious to know where you stand at this point. As you know, your candidate has been under fire for the past few weeks for several different controversies, ranging from a lewd tape to possibly refusing to accept the result of the election. Regardless of what it may be, I guess I’d like to pick your brain a bit to find out how you argue to support his claim.

I’ve heard the “what Bill did was much worse” argument, and although it may be a valid claim, he isn’t the person being discussed. Diverting the attention to someone that isn’t running for office doesn’t really answer the question. Mr. Trump says that what the women are saying are all “lies” and that there is no evidence to support their claim. While it is true that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, do you believe that Mr. Trump has evidence to support his claim? Is there evidence to prove that what the women are saying is false? As far as the tape goes, he admits to kissing women and touching women inappropriately, so how do you argue for that? These are all questions that I’ve asked myself lately, but because I am not a Trump supporter, I can’t come up with an unbiased answer, so I’d like your help.

There are so many things that I’m unsure about concerning Mr. Trump. There’s been so many outlandish statements along the way that I’m not really sure how to narrow it down to one to ask you about, but I’m confident you know what I mean. One of the wildest claims so far – at least in my opinion – is the claim of a “rigged” election. Several experts have stated publically that it would be incredibly difficult for a U.S. election to be “rigged.” So where is Mr. Trump getting his information to make such a claim? Is there unknown, unseen evidence for that, too? Mr. Trump is insulting the very basis of our democracy – a free and open election. American voters across the nation will go out on Election Day and support the candidate that they believe will do the best job at running our nation. Mr. Trump, like Mrs. Clinton, ran a yearlong campaign that he and his team managed the way they thought best. So to say that the election is “rigged,” just because he is behind in the polls, sounds a little bit like whining to me.

So, I say to you Mr./Mrs. Trump Supporter, please help me by offering me your opinion for support of Donald Trump for President of the United States.

Sincerely,

A Decided Voter

To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before...

One of the things that I love most is space. I am a HUGE space nerd. Literally ask any of my friends. I was first introduced to space when my dad dragged me to see Star Trek. Since walking out of that movie theater in 6th grade, becoming an astronaut hasn't been just some wild dream that could come true.

Summer Slump

Summer isn't alway just fun in the sun.

Summer Slump

Summer is a time for fun in the sun, hanging out with friends, and living it up, but for some people, that's not the case. Summer is a nightmare for idle minds. Let me explain what I mean by that. For people with mental illness having the extra time to think and relax can be devastating for their mental health. Now, this isn't a problem for everyone but for some people who suffer from mental illness, this is a reality.
