To The People Who Peaked In High School
NY Post

Dear Poor Soul,

Let me start out by saying, I'm not one of those people who dreaded going to high school. I liked it, quite a bit actually. I had a good group of friends, sports, and my fair share of fun times. Life was easier back then, and initially, I was sad to graduate and move on. Key word-initially. The thought of going back to high school now (just two short years later) makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a spork. Don't get me wrong, prom was okay and all, but to do that again? Hell f***ing no. Life gets better after school, and you just didn't get that memo.

Coming from a small town, there's quite a few of these people out there, and I hate to break it to you, but everyone knows you hit your prime early. The signs are clear as the medals that hung on your letterman jackets. You probably start most of your stories with "omg when I was a senior..." or basically some other sad intro clearly implying how much ~cooler~ you were back then. Now now, there's nothing wrong with reminiscing when the subject comes up. But when the only interesting things about yourself happened before you could legally buy a lottery ticket, something needs to change.

You thought you were all that in high school. It was clear your life would only go downhill come graduation, so no one really stopped your annoyingly overconfident ways. But that's fine, you had your time to shine. However, you should know this, at least for your kids' sake or something.

There's more to life than just those halls. The fact that you bring up your rank in the high school food chain goes to show you never saw much past that. You still don't. You think the best times of your life happened at that school...c'mon now that's just a sad thought. Lack of ambition is one thing, but honestly thinking the biggest places you could go in life were limited to your 17-year-old self simply isn't true.

I'm sorry if you thought this was rude...but if the shoe fits, wear it I guess. I hope your life gets better, and I hope you stop posting tbt's every Thursday...It's only drawing attention to the fact you peaked in high school.

XOXO,

Someone who will probably peak in her 20's

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
