My Dearest Little One,
You may not know who I am yet, but I already love you more than words can explain. You see, little, I loved you before I knew who you were. I loved the thought of having someone look up to me. I loved your smile, laugh, and charisma before I even met you. I loved your charm, wit, and passion. I loved you so much!
When I met you, I knew you would be the perfect addition to our sisterhood. We are so lucky to have you! I couldn't imagine my sorority without you in it. You fit in so perfectly to our diverse group of girls. Everyone loves you!
But, little, I have to say I love you just a tiny bit more. It's my job! A big and little have such a precious relationship, and as your big I want to promise you a few things.
I promise to always love you. I promise to take you for ice cream when you have a bad day. I promise to pick you up late at night when you call and I'm asleep, and I promise not to be mad about it. I promise to help you with your homework, to go to philanthropy events with you, and to participate in everything possible with you by my side. I promise to mentor you, to point you in the right direction, to steer you clear of harms way. I promise to take the cutest pictures with you and of you. I promise to be protective, but not overprotective. I promise to always be the big you need me to be, and to never abandon you.
I can't wait to spend so many precious days with you by my side, little. I can't wait to see you grow up, flourish in our sisterhood, be a leader, and someday get a little of your very own! I already have such high aspirations for you, because as your big sister that's my job- to help you strive to be the best you can be.
Little, you have already inspired me to be so much more than I thought I could be. You push me to want to be better, so that I can be an inspiration to you-- just as my big was to me. I now strive to be a kinder, more thoughtful, loving person because I want to be an example for you.
They say a little is so lucky to have a great big, but I say the opposite; I am so lucky to have you, little one. Thank you for being the perfect little for me; and here's to all of the adventures we will have together.
