If you're living with anxiety, of any extent, you know what it's like to feel completely helpless when it comes to your own thoughts and feelings. Anxiety can be so disabling that you suddenly feel paralyzed. You have all of the normal emotions, but times 20. It can keep you from maintaining jobs, keeping relationships going, and even every day tasks like talking in class.
Luckily, with help from you friends and family, you can try to get through these small things that suddenly seem impossible. Those days where you feel like you just can't handle anything else life may throw at you, you wouldn't be able to get through those without the help of your awesome friends and your loving family. So here's to them for never giving up.
Thank You.
I could never say thank you enough to all those who have helped me and who will continue to. Thank You, for not judging me when I stressed about that test that was months away. Thank You, for not looking at me like I'm crazy when I can't handle a simple task like making a phone call or ordering food at a restaurant without getting nervous. Thank You, for repeating things like "it's OK" and "I'll always be here," because you could say it 1,000 times and I would still need to hear it again. Thank You, for letting me freak out and then telling me that it really isn't that big of a deal and to just take a deep breath. I may not have said it then, but this means the world to me. Thank You, for constantly reminding me that I'm loved and needed too. And most importantly, Thank You, for never giving up on me, as frustrating as dealing with my anxiety can be.
I'm Sorry.
I'm Sorry, for all the times that you had to repeatedly tell me something; it's not because I wasn't listening, it's just that sometimes, once isn't enough. (You can thank overthinking for that one.) I'm Sorry, that you sometimes have to worry about what you're going to say to me in fear of putting my thoughts into an anxious spiral; I worry about you worrying. I'm Sorry, you have to constantly listen to me thinking out loud in hopes that it will all make sense in my head. (Yes, I mean talking to myself.) And as ironic as it is, I'm Sorry, for all the times I say sorry. Trust me, I know it's excessive, but it's my way of calming down.
Here's To You.
To all the people in my life who have to deal with my anxiety, I thank you. You will never be able to understand just how much you mean to me. I appreciate all the extra things you do to make me feel even just a little better. From talking things out with me, to making me get up off the couch to do something fun, I could never say thank you enough. So here's to you, the people I could truly not make it through life without, you deserve endless thank yous.
